I think we might be reading a bit too much into the 'Thank you' notes. I don't think there is a direct correlation between our performance and them responding to our note, as can be observed from Nikhil09's post above. (I also saw a post in another forum where the guy mentioned that he had sent almost 6 thank you notes and had not received a response for any of them).

I myself got only 2 responses to the 4 notes I sent, and one response was from the interview where my performance was really not up to the mark.

Dude, I completely agree. Actually these days as I am relatively free so all kind of thoughts are coming:) Also, interview is one part of an entire application, even if that goes great it cannot gurantee an admit on the contrary if one doesn't perform that well still can get an admit.

Yea.. Its ok to be thinking about the thing you really want (in our case, the McCombs admit).. Yea, but lets not freak out or over think. Whatever will happen, will happen for the best. Cheers :)

I too interviewed with a 2nd year student. My interview went fine but he did not respond to my thank you note.
I didn't make much of it earlier but now you guys are freaking me out.

chill!:D i really dont think a response to a thank you note should mean anything!its their personal choice..

Wow! I go away for 2 days from the forum and miss all this paranoia! :D

My personal opinion is this shouldn't matter. I sent a thank you note too, but did not receive any response (was a Skype interview with a second year student). This makes it the only place where I did not receive any kind of acknowledgment for it. But I do not think this has anything to do with the results, only because I think the students there are smart enough to not use this kind of tactic in the age where stuff like this can easily be discussed on the internet. It's not a very intelligent way to indirectly give results, is it?

Last year's decision deadline was on the 20th and calls started going out on the 11th. I think admits could go out any day now!

Well as per last year's trend's the results started rolling out around 7-8 days before the date. So if the same is followed this year, then maybe we hear something by Thursday/Friday.

What is the actually mechanism McCombs uses to contact the admits, I thought it was an email/updated to the UT EID MyStatus page? How do we know we should be expecting a phone call?

Most schools actually call the students they accept (there are a few exceptions) the days leading up to the decision deadline. People reported phone calls from McCombs on last year's forum. Dings and waitlist spots are usually communicated via email and the online portal on the actual decision day.

Is that so for international applicants as well ?
