That would put Ross selectivity > 50%. Lets look at Business week.
https://www.businessweek.com/bschools/ra ... higan.html

39% of the applicants were interviewed and 20% were accepted. So, almost half of those interviewed were dinged.

We were discussing the success that GMAT Club has had in comparison to the usual 50% post-interview acceptance rate that is published.

That would be awesome. 20+ GMATClub acceptances would make for one hell of an admit weekend!

Seriously. Hmmm...maybe we should have some kind of a GMATclub happy hour meet-up at Ross or any of the other schools that have big GMATclub presences during admit weekend. It would be a great way to meet everyone in person.

I see.. so when the post interview acceptance rate of everyone else is 50%, for Gmatclub, it is 84%. I see why gmatclub is non representative of the general population...

Hope gmatclub gets the same marks this year... People here are truly awesome.

Did anyone notice the flood of dings from MIT? I didn't even bother to apply to MIT, but really surprised to see some clubbers getting rejected... Not sure what can the rejects be attributed to..

Haha...you're right...we should probably get admitted before planning the party. What I meant is that there are sure to be some schools that boast a heavy GMATclub admit list. Kellogg already has a nice one shaping up. At those schools that have say 5+ admitted students from GMATclub we should organize some meetups. I have a strong feeling that Ross will be one of those schools. ;)

Even though I didn't get an interview with Ross, as a Michigan resident, I feel the need to vouch for the school and the area. If you didn't get a chance to visit, I highly recommend you at least take a trip to Ann Arbor before you cast off Michigan because "its too close to Detroit." Sadly, during my campus visits, I've actually heard other perspectives MBAs tell me they didn't even bother applying to U of M because of its proximity to Detroit.

Ann Arbor is a a really spectacular community-oriented city and I can pretty much guarantee that most of you would absolutely love spending two years of your life there -- if you don't mind cold weather.

Just for the record, a) i'm not a Michigan native, and b) I went to a different Big Ten school, so I can pretty much guarantee I'm being completely unbiased in my evaluation of Ann Arbor.

Reminds me of 2008 Tuck Round1. I was browsing the Tuck 2008 thread for the last half an hour. :)

68% got an interview and then had an 84% admit rate after an interview last year is pretty impressive. Gotta like the chances. Someone should really keep track of this stuff year to year.

sam77sam7
ust for reference - Last year's stats!

Overall -
Cumulative R1 & R2 stats.
22 Admits out of 37 applicants ~ 60% admit rate

R1 - Total: 17 Admits: 11 Dings: 4 (only ONE ding after interview)
R2 - Total: 19 Admits: 10 Dings: 9 (only THREE dings after interview

In total - 37 applicants, 22 admits, and 3 waitlists.

This supports Lev's prediction that an interview is a great portent of good things to come.

P.S. Interview confirmed with the Ross folks Monday morning, for tomorrow (lots of time to prepare). Yay!

That would put Ross selectivity > 50%. Lets look at Business week.

I'll be one of the ones to reverse the trend! I didn't add my name before, but I'll do so now. Round 1 applicant. Interviewed 11/24 (surely a clerical mistake). 660 gmat (V38, Q43). American living in NYC, 5 years in real estate industry.

Good luck to everyone else and congrats to the four that just interviewed. It's going to be a tough wait until Jan 15th.

I just finished my phone interview this morning. :good

It wasn't with a 2nd year student it was with the lady who I think organizes all the interviews(Gwen)? I have a feeling she got dumped on this week to try and get all of us stragglers out of the way. It wasn't very conversational, much more Q&A (I talked about 90% of the time), but still a pleasant interview.

The only question I got that hasn't been posted on here before was "What was your biggest disappointment?" I ended up taking one of my failure stories and describing my disappointment in screwing up a good opportunity, then talked about what I learned from it.

One thing was that she was very interested to know was if I had visited the school before. I told her I had come out in Sept, did the whole tour thing and had a chance to talk to a bunch of students. I got the feeling she thought it was an important thing to do.

Overall I hit on pretty much every point I wanted to, so I can't complain.

i had my phone interview today after the late last week interview invite call as well. just like refurb, i believe it was a member of the admissions committee that conducted the interview. it was not too conversational as the adcom lady tried to fit as many questions as possible into the 30 minutes timeframe. she asked all the basic questions and also asked if i had visited the school yet. unfortunately, i didn't have a chance to go visit the campus yet, as i was hoping to do so if i was invited for an interview. but with this late interview invite call, i guess i'll just have to hope for the best now. i hope that the school visit thing doesn't take away too much from my candidacy.

there was nothing too surprising or out of the ordinary during the interview... it was just very fast-paced with a lot of questions.
