Hi monabag !

5 days to decision... :shocked :dazed :please
My interview was very straightforward. No unexpected questions-- the whole thing only lasted 15-20 minutes. Heard a short interview is not necessarily a bad sign though...

It's not always a bad sign. If you read prior interview debriefs you will see several cases of applicants with shorter interviews getting into their schools.

Good luck to you as well as all R1 applicants.

Does Oxford release all decisions on the deadline day or do they release it in batches? I got the interview call before the interview decision deadline so I'm hoping that they would release the admission decision anytime before the deadline.

Hi,

I had actually received my interview mail on 19th September. Had an online interview on 30th September on Zoom. There was some technical glitch so we had to do most of the interview on telephone. I was asked many questions on leadership. I am not sure if it was because she wasn't convinced with my answers and that's why she was asking the same question in multiple ways. It was a 30 minutes interview overall. After that I got a mail to courier my official transcripts... and I am waiting for the decision now.... :((

We all got the interview decisions one day early! But based on reading posts from
Prior years, it’s normal to get interview decisions one day early but final decisions on the stated day (Friday). So I don’t think anyone will hear back before Friday.

The motivation questions are on their website. Basically why an MBA, why Oxford etc.
Competency question:
explain a time you had to help a colleague who had received bad feedback.
Explain a time you had conflict at work.

The interesting thing for me was the written question. It was such a random question: Explain the color red to a blind person.

I wrote absolute nonsense I think. And I couldn’t hit the word count of 200. I think I wrote 170.

How important is it to share thank-you notes with the interviewer? Is it even required, considering Said didn't even share the interviewer's name before hand?

I did not share thank-you note with my interviewer. However, I did thank him a couple of times during the interview.

I took note of my interviewer’s name, looked up her details on the school website and sent her a thank you email the following day. ??‍♀️ just out of courtesy, nothing more. She was very friendly during our conversation and if I get in, I’d look forward to speaking with her more.

Are thank-you notes a make it/break it ?

Anybody you know who didn't send thankyou notes but got through?

Personally, I felt my interview went pretty well.

It'll be a shame for me if thank-you notes play a very important role.
