Thank you, Anamika :)
In general MBA program offers 12 months OPT.
And eligible MS programs offers 24 months OPT.
So, for MBA+MS IS students, I think the total OPT was 36 months (Correct me if I am wrong)

Any reason why it got reduced to 17 months now? (Any change in Govt., policies?)

Thanks again, for your clarification :)

My recommender informed me that there is no question come with the link he got, only instruction to upload the LOR file.
Anyone got the same problems? Thanks!

Hi hellovenus,

I remember my recommender asking me the same when he had to submit his evaluation. So, that is how it is. Your evaluator will have to write a one page letter (Length may vary, but I feel the more concise, the more better) to adcom and upload that. He can write about anything (achievements, strengths, weakness etc..) that might be helpful for adcom.

I had the same query and the adcom told me 17 months (since MS gives you a 17 month OPT). TBH, I am not convinced too

hellovenus

My recommender thought so initially. But, on a closer look, she/ he was able to see a link in that page, which redirects to BU website's page, where she/ he was able to find some 3/4 specific questions (Q1, Q2, Q3...) to be answered in LOR, which was later uploaded as part of my application.

Congrats to all admits!! It's time to let R2 applicants take over this thread. Separate discussion thread has been created for admitted students. Feel free to join there.

Good luck to all who have applied to BU Questrom in R2!! Here is a quick analysis of admission trends observed in R1 this year at BU...

  • Acceptance rate for R1 applicants is 60.61%.
  • As expected, avg GMAT of admits is higher than that of overall application pool; however, GPA of admits is actually lower. Any thoughts on this?
  • GMAT range of denied applicants shows that every applicant who has higher than 700 GMAT score is either accepted or not reported his decision on forum.
  • Applicants with Consulting and Finance background dominate the admit list. More than half of the admits are from these two industries.
  • An applicant to get in to BU with lowest GMAT score (580) was from Nigeria, with Healthcare as undergraduate major and working in Finance industry for 5 year.
