Hi guys,
I know that results for R1 are just around the corner, and sorry if I am breaking the flow here. I am applying for R2, and need some inputs on career goals essay. I understand that we should mention about Short-term and Long-term goals ( technically, that's what they are asking). It's good to slide in few points about why Ross MBA makes senses. But I want to understand how much focus to give on explaining if Ross is the right fit - Do I talk about things I will do at Ross, and that I have talked to many students alumni etc?
Or should I simply focus on my long and short term goals ?
Thanks !
This is only based off of an educated guess (R1 application, interview, awaiting decision) and a short conversation with an adcom member:
I think you are on the right path, outlining short/long-term goals while mentioning how specific classes, clubs, experiences etc at Michigan will help prepare you to achieve these goals.
I truly believe that Ross wants to get to know you as a person. With that in mind, I'd stick to writing about what you are passionate about and how you are going to be a change agent by leveraging that passion in business & society. Use your ST/LT goals as the framework for these accomplishments. Overall, I get the feeling that the Ross Adcoms really want to understand who you are and what motivates you, so be yourself!
Good luck, and I look forward to hearing others inputs as well.
Thanks!
