I've been dinged. This one is particularly devastating. I wish the best of luck to other applicants and congratulations to those that have been accepted.

I got below reply from admissions office regarding scholarship details.

" All candidates who have been awarded a scholarship will be informed early next week. Once all scholars have been informed a note will go up on the post-offer intranet site, to say that all stage 1 scholarships have been awarded."

But how would they make the decision.... Simply on the basis of what we wrote on our application scholarship section, is it???

I think so... You just needed to check the scholarships you were eligible for/interested in in the application form.

Will know for sure only later, I guess.

Take a look at EmpowerGMAT.com
I think their course is a fast way to improve score, very strategy-oriented and can help you improve without having to study a lot of content.
Take the free material to see if it will be apropriate to you.

When Oxford Said evaluated my profile, they mentioned that a score from 650 is competitive, so you probably only have to improve a little bit.

I improved from 600 to 660 with 2 months of study. :-D

College grads and job market  [#permalink]

New post 19 Oct 2015, 07:00
FROM Oxford Admissions Blog: College grads and job market
There are a few important reason that explain why college graduates have difficulties to find a good job career.

It’s not always a lack of previous job experience (because it’s pretty easy to understand that a fresh new graduate can’t have job experiences).

Limits to college education
College today doesn’t offer students a good knowledge in the most required subjects, such as math, technology, IT and science. This represents the main reason why college grads are hardly hired by large firms today. Image

College doesn’t teach students how to manage a team or how to define a business plan, that are all required skills by firms, small or larger. College grads don’t have a clue about the office life and how to communicate to others. There is a lack of creativity and ideas in these young adults just graduated from colleges. They can’t organize meetings or show proficiency.

So, the question still stays the same for every college grad: where to make my first job experience?

Instead of accepting a part time or season job (that sound more appropriate for younger kids), graduates should try to learn from the current job market.

What trends are the strongest in the job markets today? Probably, you will easily find out that a large number of online jobs are increasing and that will soon represent a future reality for many more employees.

When you work online, you can have more opportunity to find a job, no matter if it’s an ongoing position or not. At the beginning, you need to make experiences.

Where you can find your first job experiences
Online copywriting, web master positions and online trading are the most appealing jobs you can do from your home. You just need a computer, a connection to the internet and a great enthusiasm for learning new things!

With the online trading you can have many opportunities to learn how the global financial markets actually work and how to earn from binary options.

We suggest you to visit the website of Option Rally. This is one of the top leading companies in the field of online trading jobs. Option Rally works as a broker, if you now are wondering whether binary options from Optionrally scam traders, well just know that Option Rally is one of the few 100% regulated online brokers you can find out there.

The agency CySec (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission) fully regulates Option Rally, which is powered by SpotOption. In order to protect all details from transactions and traders’ data, Option Rally uses the security system COMODO, one of the best in this field.

With Option Rally you can easily learn how to use binary options through its education course and marketing tools (eBooks and videos). New traders are offered all the necessary tools at no costs.

A talented and just graduated young adult can find an interesting place in the financial markets. Binary options are to be processed in one of the following fields: stocks, indices, forex, commodities and currencies.

FROM Oxford Admissions Blog: Why Participate In The SEMC Special Sessions
Each SEMC edition brings about a certain number of special sessions that will be a part of the complex framework of our highly praised International Conference. These sessions are mostly intended to cater to the needs of specialists looking forward to report and analyze the latest developments in certain connected fields.

International Relevance Attributed To Special Sessions
The special sessions are known to have a high degree of relevance at an international level and this is why we warmly welcome all of you prospective organisers interested in attending our special sessions to send out your papers as soon as possible, with July the 31st being the least accepted day for receiving submissions. Your role as a prospective organizer of a special session will be to find contributors located anywhere in the world and send out well-tailored invitations to the authors, so they can prepare and send out papers for the special session. These sessions normally host between ten and twenty people making one presentation each.

Benefits Of Attending Our Special Sessions
If you are either interested in searching for the brightest authors willing to make some revolutionizing papers for the big SEMC conference in 2016 or you would like to personally bring your contribution to the table, you will be exposed to an impressive number of world-renowned specialists eager to meet you. Excellent collaborations and partnerships could be born at the end of these special sessions, not to mention the possibility to come across industrialists willing to sponsor your bold projects meant to completely change the face of construction work or mechanics. Whether you have developed a brand new, state-of-the-art lock replacement system for professional and novice locksmiths or you are eager to present your latest research on a revolutionary drilling machine, you are more than welcomed here. As an organizer, you will be exempted from paying the registration fee in case your particular session manages to attract at least 12 contributors who have registered with you. If you have recently worked together with the guys at lock4less and their 24/7 mobile crews inspired you to work on a residential emergency lockout system that can cut the intervention time by half, make sure you properly present your idea. Lock4Less is a nationwide, authorized locksmith company offering residential, commercial, and automotive lock-related services offering free estimates and specialized transponder programming service. The advanced tools and techniques they are working them are helping them practice some of the smallest rates on the market, while considerably speeding up their service.
