Same was the case with me. However, the application submitted date is 11/1/2014. Therefore, I dont think that will be a problem.

Anyone else here with the same situation?

ankushtulipz
Submitted my application on November 1 but the TOEFL score took about 15 days to report. Thus the application was marked Complete on 16ht November, what the heck.

Hope they still consider me for the first round.

No interview invite yet !!

Folks with an interview invite, did you get any confirmation email regarding your scheduled interview after registering? The portal says I'm registered all right but expected an email from their side too. :?

I had my interview earlier today. Very conversational. She asked the general questions:
-why MBA?
-why Smith?
-a time when you dealt with difficulty
-difficulty with team members
-tell me about yourself
-something you like and dislike about your job
-why now?

Good luck everyone!

For the Extracurriculars section of the application, did y'all use different items than the items on your resume? If so, was there any overlap at all?

Aren't they supposed to be the same? But then there's the question of duplication of information too.... :?

I was thinking it would be better to include things that aren't on your resume to give the Adcom a broader idea of you as an applicant. However, I also see the value of including a duplicate item to really emphasize its importance.

In the end, it probably doesn't matter too much. Really just interested in getting everyone else's opinion before I hit submit.

I have just 4 extracurricular items and fitted them into the one-page resume easily. Didn't actually have something else to put into the online form actually!
Anyway, I'm applying to some schools for round 2 also and if this sort of thing comes again I should perhaps split 50-50? Hmm....

BTW, people interviewed already..... weren't there the "differentiator" and "what do you bring to the table/what can you do for Smith?" questions? No curve-balls at all - the "things you hate about work" question notwithstanding? Did they seem to appreciate the details (such as using an example) or just wanted condensed answers/opinions?
TIA.

She didn't ask what I can contribute etc, but if you show you've done homework (why smith) and are excited a lot about what smith has to offer, they can gauge for themselves. For instance, I do a lot of community service, so I told her the thing that appealed to me was community service related and how I'd like to contribute to the clubs, etc. There weren't really any curve balls. She did ask one question about teamwork where i gave a general response but she asked me for more details, so I think you should def be thorough.

Hey Guys,

I am applying to smith for round 2, but in the application section i am not able to figure the Required essay submission link. There is only optional essay link. Is the optional essay the only essay required or one other essay is also required.

Hi

Does anyone have an idea of what the maximum resume length is for FTMBA application?

There is no prescribed length as such but the standard is to keep it to 1 page or a maximum of 2 pages at best.

Do not exceed beyond that. Highlight your education, Positions held, roles and responsibilities, Awards and Extra curricular activities.

A lot of schools will give you leeway for 2 pages, but admissions consultants will always (in my experience anyway) recommend you stick to 1. Unless you're 40 years old and have held a number of different full time positions, then you shouldn't need the second page.

I struggled with this a lot myself because there were so many things that I wanted to include, but didn't have room to. If you're having trouble figuring out what to keep, ask a buddy to read over it for you and highlight which things he/she likes the most. I found it really difficult to do this myself because everything seemed important.
