I just took the gmat, I scored 605, (I had to pee on the DI section) Scored: 88s for Quant and Verbal with percentile above 86 each and DI 70 something with percentile 47. I am an ex MBB consultant, 1 year in PE and I am in the largest Fintech in LatAm. I also have a strong background in the best economics school in my contry with full scholarship (and all the things that you can imagine given I had a scholarship). Is it a acceptable score??
For a Latam candidate it may be good enough. But it is impossible to tell because chances depend on other applicants and their profiles.... Someone I knew managed to get into Stanford with 650 in R3.... So the score is not everything but your profile has to compensate for it as you are 50-70 points below the average but the low score for Wharton is 580 but that’s just one person.
PS. Keep in mind that there’s going to be a mad dash with the admissions team choosing people to interview and they may just not pick you because of a lower score and abundance of candidates with higher scores so the best hedge strategy in this case is to apply to as many programs as you can.
