I’m not really sure of the purpose of those videos either. I spoke and I spoke and spoke… didn’t really look at the timer and to avoid awkwardness, kept looking at the top right of the screen.. only knew it had stopped recording is when they asked the second question.. I crossed the time limit on two questions

Yale make it quite clear that it is a test of your communication skills, so you could probably relax a bit and not feel like you botched them :)

Generally, in this process, do people that fall within the 80th percentile get interviews barring any crazy mishap, or are there candidates with great stats that get dinged as well.

Plenty of candidates with great stats get dinged 🤷‍♂️

It’s just the way it is sometimes

This isn’t like law school admissions where getting a 4.0 GPA and a 170+ LSAT guarantees admission
