how many "waves" are there? Does anyone know when the second wave is expected? I am also an indian applicant desperately waiting to hear from Yale.

From the forum it appears that the interview invites are sent atleast one week before the final results.. What is surprising is why no Indian applicant has received interview inviote for R2 as of now.. any Chinese applicant who has received?

That's more comforting than surprising to me! Probably, they r just calling North American applicants for interviews right now. Our turn will come :-D

Indian applicant here. From what I gather, my application hasn't been reviewed as of yet as I received an email a few days back regarding missing material. The email stated that everything should be complete by the 23rd of January for the application to be reviewed. With all my material with them and the status on my application page showing as 'complete', I am assuming I'll hear from them, if at all, after the 23rd. This however is my hypothesis. Happy to be proven wrong and probably hear earlier! :D

Where did you see the status as 'complete'? I see only green check marks and the status is received for scores, recommendations etc.

Sorry for the confusion. In my communications with the Admissions Officer regarding the issue of missing material, the sentence used was 'your application materials are now complete'. As such apart from the green tick marks nothing else is mentioned on the application page.

It's official - I have booked my interview for Monday, February 9th and will be in New Haven from the evening of the 6th to the afternoon of the 10th. I'd love to hear from anyone else who will be around during that time :)

For anyone who interviewed in R1 or has visited New Haven, I'd appreciate any recommendations you have for places to stay and eat!

I also got interview invitation on 20th as well! so Excited!!! Any international applicants here will request to off-campus interview? Is off campus interview will hurt my qualification?

Is there anyone can answer above my question? I almost decide to have interview at off-campus as I live in Singapore; need to fly to other ASIA cities though. but just worried if it give negative impact on admission.

Not an international applicant, but I wouldn't worry about it. It think you have to take them at their word when they say that where you interview has no impact on your admissions decision. These schools have people from all over the world applying (like you!) and it's just not practical to expect applicants to travel half way around the world for a 30 minute interview.

There's probably good reason to want to see the campus for your own sake, but that's different than thinking it will sink your application in the admissions process. At the end of the day, becoming "the most international business school" is one of their 3 stated highest priorities, so they have good reason to be understanding on this issue.

This question comes up a lot. For almost any school, anywhere, the rule of thumb is:

Do you live driving distance (<3-4hrs): you should go in person or it looks like you don't care
Do you live driving distance 5+hrs: can go in person, not a huge deal if you don't
Is it a cheap / easy flight?: could go in person, scheduling could be an issue if you have a busy job or whatnot. meh. finances are also potentially an issue. Either way, going shows higher likelihood of yield but the effect is minimal
Is it a long distance: (e.g. UK applicant to an AUS school): its highly likely you will not be able to go in person but good on ya if you can make it. local in-person or Skype interview is expected. They aren't going to penalize anyone for not hopping on a 10 hour plane ride :).

yea,

especially since most of these are on the weekdays. I don't know about all you guys, but my office is not aware I am applying. I can't reasonably take off last minute days with a week or so notice. It probably wouldn't even be approved without legitimate reason. Furthermore, in my industry, this is the busiest time (feb-april) - even saturdays are not truly mine. All this to say, even though I really really wanted to go interview on campus - i will be doing a lot with local alumni. If Yale gives a saturday date (and i get invited), I will drive down. otherwise it's just not possible for me
