Hi, I have a question to all the successful applicants. I am trying to align my profile based on my post MBA goals and also to increase my chances of getting into Bschools. I have a career gap of 8 months and now that I have two offers, I want to know which way to go. My post MBA goal is to join MBB and to become a Consultant. (Preferably Strategy) 1st offer - Social Consultant (ESG), with a new Indian business services firm. This role is attractive because the firm is a start up and expanding faster internationally. Also, being a consultant will help me post MBA. 2nd offer - Program Manager with an international organisation. This role is attractive because it will give me opportunity to work in Asia and MENA. (Also might be a leadership role). I understand this is not the right question to ask in this platform, but I want some insights. Further info - Current GMAT score -690, Target - 730+. Regards,
Just wanna share my thought on this, though I am yet a successful applicant (don’t know yet)
I don’t know your experience and the companies you got offered. However, keep in mind that Bschools want candidates who can raise their popularity/ prestige status in the future, so they look for people who present the best potential of being successful after MBA. Moreover, they want quality over quantity, it’s the quality of your experiences and your leaning/mature from them that speak up. Therefore, go with the role you think you can learn and mature the most with.
Don’t worry about consulting experience, consulting recruitment is well-structured for MBA students, and you don’t need prior experience in consulting.
My advice is to go with the role you feel that would be most rewarding in term of experience gain. What you do before an MBA is to accumulate for the future, so challenge yourself and learn from it.
