2020-2021 was difficult because of deferred students from the year before. So a lot of people who applied in 2020-2021 and were not successful applied in R1 this year.
so there is an influx of apps from people who were supposed to be in B schools this year but were not successful, and then there is the usual amount of people applying in a regular cycle.

good analysis though.. but this is effecting us.. as we are not even getting an invite for interviews inspite of good GMAT or GRE scores

I was afraid of this and expressed my concern but hey this is seemingly not the case at other schools who had so many deferalls like ross/haas/yale/cornell, those T15s are sending waves of invites
McCombs could just very well be an exception. Austin and seemingly a new "silicon valley" but ask any longhorn and they would rate Foster better than McCombs for tech roles
Last year in Foster chat, there were two admits from McCombs who wanted to go to Foster due to its tech scene. But McCombs’ tech scene is also up and coming, and it’s happening really really fast.
