My interview lasted around 50 minutes and was very conversational. It was clear my interviewer (adcom) had read my essays and application and asked questions that were follow ups to some of my responses to the essays.


Sounds like adcom interviews go alot smoother. Mine was with a 3rd party and all they have is your resume.

I am not sure if my interviewer was 3rd party or not. All she said is she is not invloved in adcom.

Thanks QQRamanQQ for the speedy response! Out of curiosity why do you say this? Specifically for UNC? As I know of several people, including myself who have received scholarship to other top 20 schools with the gmat waiver. Wondering if you have specific information pertaining to UNC?

Is UNC still rolling out invites? I applied in Round 2, right on the deadline.

How are the chances of R3 conversion for Indian Candidates? Is it possible to get scholarships by applying in this round? Is it advisable to apply in R3 or rather wait for R1 for next intake?(wont prefer waiting for next intake TBH but hoping that the application effort in R3 this year is not completely in vain)

R3 is generally tough for internationals. Most seats would have been filled up and most of the scholarship budget would have been extinguished. You’d have a better chance of applying in R1 next year IMO. R3 won’t completely go in vain - you’d be able to repurpose some of the essays for R1.

R3 for UNC is actually applicable for scholarships for internationals as it has 4 rounds in total
