I think I only have time to submit a few applications by Round 1, and am thinking about saving the rest for Round 2. Is this allowed?

How about if I get admitted to a school, and accept the offer to join? Can I still apply in Round 2 to other schools just to see if I can get into a better school? I poked around and could not find this explicitly answered.

Thank you!

In general, I would agree with above. However, I would be view some schools that have binding offer like Columbia which asks you to drop other applications. Also, if you applied in early rounds in certain schools such as Tuck, KF, Emory, they would not ask you to drop other application but rather give you limited time window to deposit money that mom-refundable, usually high deposit, so you are forced to accept to reject the offer. However, some applicants apply to safe schools and get accepted and pay deposit and finally sacrifice the deposit if big schools like H/W/S accept them.

Wish you success in your journey

Hello calibanswar123,

The answer to both your questions is YES! :)
However, it is strongly recommended that you apply to the best schools that you want to apply to in the very first round itself. This will ensure that you know about your results and are able to pay up the deposit. Also, should you not make it to preferred schools in the first round, this will also help you strategize for the second round :)

Hope this helps :)

All the best!
