I'm confident that, I'd strive to get a 600+ easily and would never score an 85+ percentile in CAT.

Hello people,

I am posting this as I am not able to choose the right option now and I am guessing this might help me quite a bit.

I have decided to pursue an MBA degree in India. I have taken the CAT a couple of years back (score was terrible and was a nightmare). Then I prepared for Gmat. Although I found Gmat easier than CAT, due to lack of MOCK-Test preparation my score was not up to my expectation.

I am planning to Do a 1-year MBA course in India and I would like to choose GMAT, start preparing from now. But some of my friends, suggested that I give CAT another shot and see how things go.

So I am a little confused. Whether or not to take up CAT. Please do share your opinions.

Thanks & Regards,
Sundarram9591

There are a lot of schools which accept GMAT in India. You can apply to any one of them. Moreover, the Executive courses at IIMs consider GMAT as well, so you don't need to take the CAT. What are your target schools? You can get their Median GMAT score in their respective websites.

If you have 5+ years experience, all institutes in India consider GMAT scores whether it's IIM or not.

But for IIM's,ISB 700+ is needed.
For Great lakes ,yes you get call for 600+ provided you have a strong profile.

I'm not sure about Great Lakes, but ISB is a pretty competitive program which needs above average GMAT scores. Have you looked at MISB Bocconi? It is a new college but it is an offshore campus for SDA Bocconi, Italy.
