Hi JeevesAsk,

Based on the information that you've provided across the three threads, there are a few things to consider:

1) A Q37/V27 would NOT have been a 600 (it would be closer to a 550). This is important because with your Official Score (Q31/V27), you would have to score significantly higher in BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections (or potentially score much much much higher in just the Quant section) to hit a 600+.

2) There weren't any immediate 'red flags' in terms of anything that you did during the last 3 days before your Official GMAT, but there's potentially an issue with the time of day that you took your Official GMAT. Most people do their best thinking in the first 4-5 hours of the day, but you spent your first 4-5 hours of Test Day doing other things (before taking the GMAT). This is meant to say that you might benefit from taking the GMAT earlier in the day.

3) For this next round of studies, you're going to need a set of practice CATs that have questions that you have never seen before AND you'll have to make sure to take each of those CATs in a realistic fashion that matches up exactly with what you'll face when you take the Official GMAT. You'll also have to shift your focus to learning and practicing the proper Tactics for BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections.

You will likely need at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study to hit this score goal and you cannot expect things to improve if you simply continue to study in the same ways as before.

I appreciate your response Rich. Thanks for clarifying the discrepancy regarding what I need to score on each section. I have ordered the Manhattan Set and plan to utilize the 6 practice exams that accompany the set. I plan to focus on one book a week alternating between Quant and Verbal. I will write practice exams every 2nd week under strict guidelines. The 8:00am exam suggestion is not bad and I will definitely consider it for my practice exams. I will keep you posted regarding my progress!
