Please fine my reasoning below :-)

VyshakhR1995
Ella Fitzgerald’s unbridled delight in singing and her farranging versatility—encompassing styles as diverse as mournful ballads and show-stopping scat singing—lends credence to the numerous musicologists who claim her to be the greatest female vocalist of her generation.

(A) lends credence to the numerous musicologists who claim her to be
INCORRECT... s-v agreement problem

(B) has made believable the numerous claims of musicologists that she is
INCORRECT... same as (A)

(C) have lent credence to numerous musicologists that claim she is
INCORRECT... As musicologists are people, who is preferable.

(D) have made believable the numerous musicologists’ claims of her to be
INCORRECT...Awkward

(E) lend credence to the claims of numerous musicologists who hail her as
CORRECT

In C usage of She is also incorrect. Possessive Form is present in sentence,So while "Her" can be used She cannot be used.

There are two qualities of Ella that lend credence to the musicologists.

Quote:
A. lends credence to the numerous musicologists who claim her to be
S-V agreement. The subject is plural whereas the verb is singular.
Quote:
B. has made believable the numerous claims of musicologists that she is
S-V agreement. Same reason as A
Quote:
C. have lent credence to numerous musicologists that claim she is
'that' isn't correct here. Should be 'who'.
Quote:
D. have made believable the numerous musicologists’ claims of her to be
changes meaning. Now we are looking at numerous claims rather than numerous musicologists.
Quote:
E. lend credence to the claims of numerous musicologists who hail her as
Correct.

Overall I don't think the meaning is quite right. Do someone qualities really lend credence to other people's claims?

A-SV error
B-SV error
C- "have lent credence to numerous musicologists" makes it seem like the musicologists are believable and not their claims. We are talking about the claims hence claims of musicologists is preferrable.
D-Just too wordy as compared to E
E- Not too wordy and clears the issue with C by saying the claims of the musicologists have gained credence.
