Hi naren01,
To start, have you considered purchasing the ESR? While the Enhanced Score Report doesn't provide too much information, it usually offers a few data points that we can use to define exactly what you need to work on. Right now, you're assuming that your only 'issue' is with SC, but a V26 means that you likely lost significant points in all 3 major Verbal categories (SC, RC and CR). You might also have had some type of general pacing issue that the ESR would help to define. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) Did you take the FULL CAT each time (with the Essay and IR sections)?
Goals:
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
Given this score, and your score goal, you will likely need another 2 months of consistent, guided study to get up to that level. This is meant to say that you might want to push back when you plan to retest.

Hi Rich,
Thanks so much for your detailed reply, it certainly helps coming from experts like you.
I was not aware if I can get an ESR for a cancelled score, since I have already cancelled that score, I will check that option and revert to you on that later..
However would like to respond on all the other points you mentioned.
1) I have studied for around 2.5-3 months starting from mid of October. An average of 2 hours on weekdays after work and 4-5 hours on the weekends, It has been all self-study
2) I have gone through the concepts using
Manhattan books and have also used a lot of practice questions available online. I also have the
OG and have done almost 50-60% of the
OG problems...
3) I have taken 2 GMAT prep tests and the scores are as follows: GMAT Prep 1 (taken in Nov): 670-(Quant-47, Verbal-35). GMAT Prep 2- January (660)- (Quant- 50, Verbal-29).
4) Yes I took the Full CAT's at home with the Essays and IR, only once I had to pause the exam for a minute bcoz of some disturbance.
Goals:
1) I am looking at putting up my applications by June-July 17 and interested in applying to all the top 5-7 schools of US and INSEAD, LBS in Europe only.
I agree with your other feedback as well that if I got just 26 which means I might have got some wrong in CR and RC as well. Why I mentioned only SC is because my overall accuracy throughout the preparations and practice CAT's has been around 80%-85% for RC and CR but very poor for SC. I will continue working on RC and CR but think SC is where I need to do the major work, and I feel this is where it can swing my verbal scores.
I am willing to push back the exam till March, and approach it with full prep.
Regards
Naren
