Hi, congrats for increasing your score by 70.

For Quant, use gmatclub test and practice all 1500 quant questions. I found these questions are similar to, or more difficult than the real gmat.

Happy study!

Rich,

here is my ESR Report from GMAT 1 and GMAT 2

GMAT 1 (Jan 2019):
Verbal 27 (CR - 63, RC - 60, SC - 25)
Quant 42 ( Geometry - 100%, Rates/Ratio/Percent - 25%, Value/Order/Factors - 77%, Equal/InEqualities - 75%, Counting/sets/series - 62%)

GMAT2 (Dec 2019) - Most studies were studying SC, and doing more OG guide problems. Initially I went through all Manhattan books

Verbal 36 (CR - 82, RC - 60, SC - 81)
Quant 41 ( Geometry - 66%, Rates/Ratio/Percent - 33%, Value/Order/Factors - 75%, Equal/InEqualities - 71%, Counting/sets/series - 100%)

I agree with what you are saying, i hate to spend another few months on gmat if its really not needed. I am not convinced at this time if a quick fix is possible with in a month

Thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look

Hi mattp1,

To properly analyze your ESRs, I'll need to see the actual Reports. Before you can add attachments to your posts or PMs, you need at least 5 posts in the forums on GMATClub. If you'd rather not go through those extra steps, then you can feel free to email me your ESRs directly.

I just finished my second GMAT today, and here are the results

GMAT 1 : 570 (Quant 42, Verbal 27 (SC 25%), IR 5)
GMAT 2: 640 (Quant 41, Verbal 36, IR 3)

I was aiming for 600+ score in my second attempt and focused more on sentence correction. I did not see the ESR, but my guess it worked out as planned with improvement in sentence correction but disappointed with IR and math score. There were few easy problems in math, and may be lack of practice i missed that. After the exam, it immediately clicked how to solve those couple of problems.

I have several years of experience in the IT industry and looking into enroll into part time MBA in either Chicago Booth or Depaul. I am considering to give one more attempt in the next month as admission deadlines are not due until October.

Study materials used : CR bible, Manhattan guides & Empower GMAT. Honestly, I feel bad not using empower gmat to maximum extend.

Any suggestions on pushing little bit more my quant in the next 1 month. I understand IR practice needs to be added to push that to a decent level

Thanks.

Hi mattp1

Look to you score from positive side. You have good verbal score and you need only some effort in math. My advice to you is to follow what Rich is going to advice you and make use of EMPOWERgmat. I almost certain you can increase your score to 45 easily soon with some focus.

Good luck

Congratulations, I believe since you have your initial desired scores, focus on your applications except your goal has changed then you may work on your quant. All the best

I don't think there should be a problem to go from Q41 to Q45
Math revolution gives you a guarantee to improve to Q45
There are so many other sources you could benefit from
You need to be able to see pattern in traps they set
Quant is scorable

thanks for all your inputs, here's how it all went

[*] wrote one more gmat , math score went up, verbal and overall score went down. It was an easy decision for me to cancel the score
[*] wrote all the application essays myself after doing some research (probably 1-2 weeks for research and essay). my native language is not english
[*] applied for part time mba in Kellog, Booth and Depaul and got admitted to all of these. I have more than 15 years of IT experience, engineering background and a masters from the USA. As most mentioned in this forum, part time probably a bit easier to get in considering I got in , lol..

Good Luck everyone !
[*] Unless you are looking for a full time degree, get a decent gmat score and start applying.
[*] Industry experience probably compensates for the gmat score a bit..

update 11/6 - Accepted Kellog's offer.
Thanks again everyone !

For improving quant, you can try Exampal Quant. Its resource and AI-assisted methods to cater different learners' style are simply amazing. Let the Exampal method refine/diversify your Quant style and push your Quant score further. Good luck.

Disclaimer: I have consistently scored Q49 three times before taking Exampal courses. However, I still find that its Quant lessons are useful and enlightening. Hope my Quant score can break further to 51.
