Solved it in 87 minutes but got 12 wrong. Solved the incorrect questions again without looking at the answer and got only 4 wrong. I am making too many silly mistakes. I start freaking out if a question is taking too long to solve and I end up guessing incorrectly. My gmat exam date is in 5 weeks, any suggestions?

After a number of years, we have rolled it into the GMAT Club tests, and you can take a free Quant and Verbal tests.
As to this particular test, no updates beyond the version that's available here.
Thank you.

Question #23:

Sets aren't supposed to have duplicate elements, right?
I believe I learned this while getting my PhD in Set Theory ;)

Hi! Thank you so much for all the effort of putting all these questions together along with their explanations. It's been very helpful.

I just spotted an issue with question 8. I have the V6.2 of the test and question 8 looks like this.

Very confusing. Then I'm checking the answers and I realize there's info missing. This makes it impossible to solve.

Just wanted to let you know :)

Welcome to the "Best" Free GMAT Diagnostic Test - Evolving GMAT Club Community Project

Download the Test | Download the Answer Sheet

 Let's work together as a community to create world's best GMAT Diagnostic test by creating, refining, and improving diagnostic questions.

We have started this project with the Quant section to help GMAT test takers understand their weaknesses better. The test is free - please take it. If you have any questions or suggestions - post them here. Also, the idea of the test is to improve it based on the feedback of the community - here is how you can share your thoughts:
1. Take the questions in the forum and make sure you are using the timer so the difficulty is accurately established
2. Provide verbal feedback by replying to this thread
3. Suggest question types to be included in this test - please provide examples if possible (we'll take care of creating the questions)
4. Finally - get others to take this test and provide their feedback

How to use the Diagnostic Test - The Diagnostic Test is setup to allow you to test you as thoroughly or as quickly as you would prefer. The questions are arranged in sections in an increasing difficulty order - the first question is always 600-650 level, mid question is 700 level, and the last question is 750 level. If you are in a hurry, you can take either all easy or medium, or all hard questions only. Instead of 45 questions, you can only take 15 and leave the rest for later.

Taking the test
You should spend a maximum of 90 minutes answering 45 questions or if you are taking fewer then plan to spend on average 2 minutes per question

Where are the questions from?
The questions have been developed by very experienced and high scoring GMAT Club members

Are the questions copyrighted?
Yes, but you can post and distribute them to benefit other test takers - please give credit to GMATClub for the hard work our members put into this test

Jw - there an updated version to this? I assume the core topics are the same, but the test has changed a bit in the past 3 years.

Hi. This Diagnostic Test Project is a bit of an outdated thread since now you can just take one of the GMAT Club Tests (quant and verbal). https://gmatclub.com/tests-beta/dashboa ... tfree.html
However, as a Diagnostic, it did not match the OLD GMAT format and it does not match the new format either, but that was intentional. The idea is to diagnose all topics instead of just simulate your GMAT Practice score. I hope that distinction is clear.

Thanks for the question!
BB.

Thanks BB. Is there a page that shows the old vs new format with perhaps a timeline? I know Magoosh put out an analysis for the OG 13, but that's also a bit dated.

I am not 100% sure what you are asking.... The topics that are tested on the GMAT, have not changed in a long time.
The only thing that changed is the number of Questions that GMAC uses to determine your score. This change was implemented last year if you are curious about that, though it hardly matters at this time. However, if you are curious about what has changed, you can review this 12-page discussion :)

I was more wondering if the topics had changed proportionately, for instance if standard deviation was now more heavily tested than before.

But this answers my question - thanks!!

Got it. There has been a slight change/adjustment in the GMAT topics tested (though if the Standard Deviation was tested less per se, you still want to know it for the test).
However, there has been greater number of bolded CR questions over the last 5 years or so and a greater number of the DS Geometry questions. That is why the OG 2020 has so many new Geometry DS questions, to make it more representative of the content and proportions of content you will see on the actual GMAT.

However, the rule of thumb is that you want to cover all topics tested as much as possible to maximize your chances of a higher score and save time for harder questions. The adaptive nature of the test means that you don't know what question type will be thrown out and what difficulty it will be. It may be a super easy Standard Dev question or it may be an evil one. Could be just one but really evil. On my test, I got bombed by a probability question. Fairly simple but I did not cover probability since the book i was using (annoying) did not think it needed to cover probability since those questions are not frequent and encountered only at the greater levels of difficulty.... that of course has changed since and probability is more prevalent and people are more prepared but the bottom line, it can take one question to throw you off...

First thank you for compiling all this content, as well as this Diagnostic test and really just everything. Thank you.

I can see from the previous posts (candidly, I did not scroll through all of these before taking the Diagnostic exam) that this may be a bit outdated given the test center link provided, however, I still did find this test to be equally challenging and helpful. With that being said idk if the pdf is still getting updated given the aforementioned, however FWIW, question 33 doesn't include the correct answer choice of 2:1

Again, thank you for all you've done/continue to do!

Hey - this diagnostic test is great. How would we translate this score into a scalable score? would 40/45 be a Q50? Any guidance?

I just came across this post, while searching for a way to do a wide variety of quant questions to understand my current strengths and weaknesses. I have two questions -
1. Are these questions still relevant and would you recommend this to know my present strengths and weaknesses?
2. I am assuming that these questions cover all Quant topics with varied difficulty levels. Is this assumption correct?

Please let me know if you have any tips on getting the most out of this test.

PS: I do know about Free GMATClub Tests - but not sure if a single test would cover all topics to get a holistic view of my current level.

Thanks a lot.
