Please help!
To set the stage I was terminated from my job last week by formal reasoning of, "not a fit for the position." I have worked in this job for over a year with rave reviews from my managers, several are even serving as my recommendations for graduate programs and reached out to me after the news broke to express their disbelief. We had a change in management several months ago and my desire for greater responsibility was clearly an issue and I was subject to months of misogynistic, sexually harassing and discriminatory behavior. I was determined to finish out my time in this position before the commencement of classes and continued to be a dedicated employee while still defending myself when possible or when matters crossed a certain line; however, they decided to terminate me. I am currently pursuing litigation but my most immediate concern is how to position this turn of events on my application, which is due in 5 days.
I do not want to go into too great of detail and come across as a disgruntled former employee but I also don't want a solid application to be another element this discriminatory business takes from me with their treatment. Any advice on how much to share, what to say or generally any advice on how to handle this would be so appreciated!
Additionally, I have an interview next week and will obviously have to answer questions regarding the turn of events. Same principle here, I want to be honest about what has happened but I also don't want this to become the focus of my application or interview.
Thank you!
