Hi everyone,
I've recieved an admit from both HKUST and Cambridge for their MBA programs. I'm currently trying to decide between the two.
I'm an Indian Male engineer, with almost 6 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry, in various Operations/Supply Chain roles.
My target industry is consulting, though I would readily consider an Ops role in a reputed tech/OEM company.
In the long term, I'd like to come back to India.
Looking forward to everyone's input. Thanks!

I would venture out to say that HKUST is probably a more exciting and stronger program than Cambridge but it has a number of challenges he’s that come with it.
First is you have to know Chinese, Cantonese to get a job in Hong Kong. Unless you somehow figure out a way to get in as an ex-pat, which has to be only through a personal connection, you will not be able to recruit in Hong Kong. That means you will be going to Singapore or another location for recruiting. Makes it tougher And diminishes the name of the schools brand since you will not be able to recruit on campus.
Second, the cost of living in Hong Kong after graduation is very high. During school it should be OK since the campus is in the Clearwater Bay somewhat out of the high cost areas and there is student housing available.
On the positive side they have a very strong exchange program with some of the worlds best MBA programs. You could go for a semester to almost anywhere. Kellogg, UCLA, Darden, Europe, Asia. Really anywhere.
On the positive side they have a very strong exchange program with some of the worlds best MBA programs. You could go for a semester to almost anywhere. Kellogg, UCLA, Darden, Europe, Asia. Really anywhere.
On the other hand Judge has some exciting things about it as well including its old history of the parent University and the widely recognized name around the world. It is not a very strong brand as an MBA program however and does not command a premium in recruiting. Taken into consideration your goal of returning to India eventually, which brand potentially do you feel would be more valuable?
My guess however is that 10 years after graduation, you may not be leveraging your MBA brands but rather your personal network at the same time, it never hurts to have extra help.
Where do you see yourself after graduation? Would you rather be in Asia or London?

Honestly, both Hong Kong and London seem like exciting prospects to me, in terms of living there post MBA. You're absolutely right about the problems HKUST brings as well, they're essentially what I was worried about, especially the language barrier.
I'm leaning a little more towards Cambridge at the moment, because of the University reputation (the B school itself might not command the same respect) as well as the recent situation in HK, and the seemingly bleak economic prospects. In addition to that, Judge seems to have a bigger and more diverse class.
The biggest win HKUST seems to have over Judge, as you rightly pointed out, is the amazing exhange opportunity it provides.
Do you know what the Job prospects after Judge are like?
(Feedback from multiple current students and alumni). So, I start to doubt 
that why such a feedback comes when these schools are the Top-10 programs in Europe? Is the data in all the placement reports manipulated 
? There could be many reasons such as:
There will be lot of people who did their MBA's from US.
