Homer’s Odyssey is often dramatized as a series of hairbreadth escapes from terrible monsters and vengeful gods, and while those episodes are exciting and important literary achievements, they stand apart from the poem’s extensive attention to domestic life, to domestic values, and to a hero whose most important achievement is the reestablishment of his home and family.
Meaning analysis:
1. Homer’s Odyssey is often dramatized
2. Dramatized as (in a role of) a series of hairbreadth escapes from terrible monsters and vengeful gods
3. while those episodes (series) are exciting and important literary achievements
4. they (series) stand apart from the poem’s extensive attention
...............................to domestic life,
...............................to domestic values,
...............................and to a hero whose most important achievement is the reestablishment of his home and family.
Meaning is quite clear, the main idea is even if Odyssey is often dramatized as a series of adventures, they narrate domestic values and importance of the reestablishment of his home and family.

All the SV pairs agree in number, all the verb tenses is Present simple - because this is general fact about the poem.
'and' //ism marker connects all the // entities.
So far there is no error.

(the main issue here "although" - it changes the direction of the sentence, it presents contrast, where as "while" implies at the same time, 'while' also my present a contrast, but if you get the meaning correct here 'while' presents simultaneous actions. two equal adjectives can be connected either with 'and" or with 'comma' - so there is no issue with it)

(in A and B 'and' followed by full cause and make sense, but here we need something to be parallel to 'while an exciting...' but there is nothing to, moreover 'what is' exciting and important?)
E. and with those episodes as exciting and important literary achievements
('with+modifier' is not working here, it has to make sence with the subject of the sentence, Homer’s Odyssey with those episodes - doesn't make any sense, it implies that this episodes is separate from the poem itself, but in reality they are part of the poem)
If we look at these answer choises, the only difference is 'while'
A. and while those episodes are exciting and important literary achievements
D. and those episodes are exciting and important literary achievements
I think the presence of 'while' in these context makes this part DC and shows presents simultaneous actions, which is required in the given context, (D) sands out as IC and wants to be equal to main IC
So to me A is the correct answer here.
