Hi,

I sat on the GMAT test last Saturday (third try this year), and I got 720. My goal score is 750+, since I have to do round 2 application for most of the business schools now, and my GMAT score matters a lot. Need to get the GMAT done by the end of the year, and I have two chances left this year. I plan to retake it on Oct 22, but wonder whether 22 days is enough to make 30+ score improvement. If not, how long I should prepare before to retake another one.

Some performance statistics (cannot post a ESR :( ):

My first try (6/18/2019) - 650 (Q49, V28) with CR-65th, RC-41th, SC-50th
My second try (7/18/2019) -650 (Q51, V27) with CR-28th, RC-60th, SC-50th
My third try (9/28/2019)- 720 (Q50, V37) with CR-57th, RC-76th, SC-94th (have no idea why CR get worse since the first try)

My background: an Asian female has a full time job in US, with an engineering background.

Any advice is appreciated.

I think a month should suffice. Please take note: Accuracy > Quantity at any point of tine in your prep.

SC: OG, Manhattan Prep, GMAT Club
RC: OG, OG verbal, Economists
CR: OG

It seems your CR need a boost. Kindly watch “Thursday’s with Ron CR” videos ,Also get yourself Powerscore CR Bible to clear concept: go ahead and start practicing OG and LSAT questions

Hi vivianliu16,

First off, a 720/Q50 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is probably not necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

1) What are the exact application deadlines for the Schools that you plan to apply to?
2) Why do you think you "need" a 750+?

720 with Q50 is a great start! Looking at your most recent score breakdown, it’s clear that you will need to improve your verbal skills in order to reach your score goal. Would you like some general advice on how to improve your verbal skills?
