Hi,
While reading in SC or RC or CR or even word problems in Quants, i find that i have to read the whole thing because i was not able to fully comprehend the sentence or question stem in the first reading. This leads to wastage of time and I am not able to complete questions within stipulated timeframe of 2 mins.
Kindly suggest how to improve this problem so as to speed up my reading.
thanks
Sometimes the need to re-read a passage stems from not being fully engaged while reading the first time. I called this the "Sunday morning newspaper syndrome," where you realize that while "reading" the last two paragraphs, you are thinking about something totally different.
In these instances, it's crucial that you engage 100% in the passage. So, rather than approach a passage with dread ("yeesh, this is going to be a killer"), try to feign interest ("Excellent! This passage is about protozoa!! I can't think of anything more exciting!!!!").
It may sound silly, but it helps. The greater your engagement, the better your results.
