Good Morning,
Last Saturday I took the TOEFL in IQS center, Barcelona.
When we were in the middle of WRITING the server of ETS went down, program fails, we have to restart the computer, the girls who were monitoring the center call ETS and after 1 hour they get it solved and we did the writing part again...
Even so, there are a lot of people (me personally) that almost half of the writing was not saved (I guess the backups that are doing the program were not saved since the second when the server failed), the remaining time was not the same (I have 3 minutes left when i still had 8 minutes to finish my writing) and you have to take into account that there has been a pause of 1 hour (you can not do anything because the pc screen was not working), your head and concentration are no longer the same, More fatigue after the exam, etc.
The girls at the center of the IQS did not know what to say and they tell us that they already talked with them to notify the incidence. However, I wonder. Has anyone ever had this experience? Anyone know who to contact? Someone know what will happen if they correct from the minute in what the server went down or they correct the same without taking into acount what happened? (Although clearly this has harmed us)
I'm not crying like a little kid, I just DO NOT find it normal that an exam that costs about $250 happens this. I know that when you are working with computers it can happen, but i believe something has to be done with our test. since, the conditions were not the same.
If someone has found himself in a similar situation or knows who to contact with, I will be eternally grateful.
greetings and thank you very much.
