If 9 models participated in a certain fashion show featuring coats, how many different coats did they model?

(1) The fashion show lasted 90 minutes.
(2) The ratio of the number of models who participated in the show to the number of different coats modeled was 1 to 7.

Statement One Only:

The fashion show lasted 90 minutes.

This doesn’t tell us the number of different coats modeled. Statement one alone is not sufficient.

Statement Two Only:

The ratio of the number of models who participated in the show to the number of different coats modeled was 1 to 7.

If we let x = the number of different coats modeled, we can create the equation:

9/x = 1/7

x = 63

So there are 63 different coats modeled. Statement two alone is sufficient.
