this is a basic level math questions to start your GMAT prep. and nobody have the same level of understanding.

The GMAT is computer adaptive, so everyone eventually encounters questions that are in line with their skills.

x − 5 = 3x + 2

-7 = 2x

-7/2 = x

If x − 5 = 3x + 2, then x=

A. -8
B. -7/2
C. -7
D. 10/3
E. 7/5

$$x − 5 = 3x + 2$$

Or, $$2x = −7$$

Or, $$x = \frac{−7}{2}$$

Answer will be (B) $$x = \frac{−7}{2}$$
