I just finished GMATPrep Exam 1 today and it shows a Q49 being 83rd percentile. I know conversion tables are not to be used for precision, but is it just me or does the percentile score not make sense?

Hi ykz,

What about that Scaled-Score-to-Percentile number "doesn't make sense" to you? Over the last several years, there has been a relative 'surge' in the number of high-performing Quant Test Takers - and that surge has thrown off the percentiles a little bit. That doesn't mean that a Q49+ is any less impressive - just that a higher percentage of Test Takers now score at that level (or above).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

The GMATPrep software is actually not showing the latest data. A Q49 is currently 77%. You can see the updated percentile tables here.
