I know its too late but can anyone tell me if I am having any chance of consideration with my 96 toefl score.
I have 7 year of work experience in Sales and supply chain roles in one of the best Steel Industry in India.

It would be great if someone tells me should I apply to Ivey MBA in first place, given it is one of the best one year option in USA/Canada.

Hi Navneet,

Speaking as an alum I can say that Ivey is definitely one of the best schools. I don't think you need a TOEFL score to apply to Ivey especially if your undergrad was pursued in English. Your profile seems nice with 7 years of work ex. Depending on your post-MBA goals you should choose a business school. Every school has a unique offering, having said that Canada doesn't offer very many top school options. You may have missed this year's application cycle for Ivey but you can certainly aim for next year.

I'll disagree, I found their employment statistics to be wildly inaccurate and the engagement from their faculty unprofessional. If you do a quick LinkedIn search on Ivey MBA graduates you can easily see how many don't get employed till the next year to 6 months post graduation. Often I even found that the students took roles at the same level as Pre-MBA.

I think so! I spoke with some members of the admissions team last week, and they were adamant that there is a lot of time left. They encourage you to apply when you're ready. I'm applying this week (during round 5), but getting in depends on how applicants have built their profiles and stories.

Dear All,

For the applications, do we need to mail the official transcripts and send the official GMAT score or is it only if we get accepted?

Hey, did you end up applying? I am hesitating to apply now or wait for the next intake. Adcom is pushing me to apply now but I am worried that they are focused on getting their metrics high.

Yes, I did - a day after I made that post, actually! I interviewed soon after, and I'm currently waiting on a decision (there was some delay on their end). Similar to you, I was debating between the 2019 and 2020 intakes. I was also encouraged by Adcom to apply for the 2019 intake, but ultimately, they told me to apply when I felt ready. I later decided that, in terms of the strength of my application, nothing would change between now and next year's cycle. Given this, I didn't think there was any point in waiting for the next intake. I also recently met an Ivey Alumna who told me she wrote the GMAT in December, applied in January, and started in March - so, November definitely isn't late in comparison to her timeline.

Sure! I'm Canadian-born, female, first generation Canadian. I studied Life Sciences at a top tier Canadian school (3.39 GPA) and obtained a 670 (47Q/35V) on the GMAT. I have just over 2 years of work experience: 1.5 years in medico-legal case management and almost 1 year in a medical devices start-up. I applied Oct 22nd, interviewed on Nov 1st, and received the offer on Nov 20th.

The interview was fairly conversational. It started off with questions specific to my industry (healthcare) and touched upon points I discussed in my essays. It then went into behavioural questions - my strengths, weaknesses, how I work in teams, etc. The final question was whether I had any hesitations about studying at Ivey. I had a few takeaways from the interview: 1) Know as much about your industry as possible, 2) Be prepared to thoroughly explain points from your essays and resume, 3) The interview is just one data point. Do your best, but it probably won't be perfect. I didn't feel all that great about my interview, but everything still worked out okay.

Good luck!

Congrats VKR09 and thank you for posting a summary of your application journey. Hope other admits will also follow the suit. All the best for your next journey.
