I am struggling a lot with assumption-based questions and my accuracy in OG questions up to 650 level is just hovering around 70%. I am clueless here on how to improve the accuracy of such types of questions. Kindly advice.

Probably be good to get some understanding about how to read, how to approach questions, and what to watch out for. You need a book such as MGMAT or Kaplan Verbal Workbook or anything really in Addition to the OG. Think of OG as the Door and a book/course as a key that unlocks that door
And what do u think about gmat ninja for verbal?

videos on youtube

GMATNinja is an absolute legend. Helped me bump up my Verbal score by leagues when I was preparing for the classic edition of the GMAT. They have great videos on the GMAT Club YouTube Channel and a channel of their own. Would 10/10 recommend subscribing to both!

Thanks,
Sim

From A we can infer, we want to compare eyes of fish with eyes of mammals. This is logical so we can go with this meaning.

A is wrong because it is comparing eyes of fish with mammal

B is right. Comparing eyes of fish with eyes of mammals

C that is singular, eyes is plural. We have no logical antecedent for that.

D that again

E comparing with mammal

No need to use past perfect here since we have "before"

The answer is B
In B, you have "became" as the past tense and then "had been based" in past perfect tense. Past perfect tense is used to refer to the event that happened before the reference past event.
So your reference past event here is the realist forms that became prominent. The event that happened before that reference must be in past perfect tense.

I don’t think the "Before" changes the need for past perfect

I think answer is A. The words “realist forms” and “proportions of sculpture” are plural nouns so they require plural verbs became and were.
