I received an invite today too! I'm in NY and it seems like the AO will be in NY next week, possibly why the interview invites came out so quickly....

It seems like the timing that Kelley sends out the interview requests doesn't correlate with the quality of the application. Can anyone who was accepted round 1 confirm? I also submitted my complete application on Jan 5, but am based out of nearby Shanghai, China.

It appears that those apps which have been reviewed and have people in cities where the adcom is visiting in the coming weeks, have been invited. They are still going through the others, so if the AOs are in your city but you haven't heard yet, it just means that your application is still moving through the pile.

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this whole GC thing, but I hope to be more active :-D

I applied to Kelley on Jan 5th. Got an interview invite on Jan 8th. But like others have said in before, I think its because they have someone visiting my city for the insidethemba.org fair. I have my interview next week, anyone have any tips or know what has been asked?

i understand that kelley reps are in delhi on 28th and 29th. My friend got a interview invite today eve but i haven't. We both are from Delhi. Does this mean that i am not shortlisted. Nervous and disappointed.
Please shed some light.

My interview was fairly conversational. The questions asked were the usual - Why MBA? Short term/long term goals, extra-curriculars, work experience, etc.
Brad did not take my interview. But from last year's thread, it looks like he takes interviews of a similar kind.

Attended the Kelley Small Group Dinner in DC last night and met people from the Admissions office at Kelley. They left from here to go to India and I was told that they have tried to invite "some of the people" - only those whose application they have had time to go through. He reminded me that its been just 10 days since the round deadline :P. He also assured me that it is possible that people will continue getting invites as close as two weeks to the decisions date. Yes, from India too. So even if you haven't heard until pretty late, as far as Kelley goes, there is still hope.

I had submitted my application 20 days prior to the deadline
Work Ex is good , GMAT and GPA are well above average,
Do not know whether I screwed up OR whether it is still under process and this is so agonizing. I am checking my email every few hours including my spam folders.

I need some closure here . I spent a lot of time and effort on this

It is indeed agonizing!
However, I think MBAjunkie16 has a point. Maybe its a random selection of forms.

Gosh.. that made me realize how little knowledge is available in public domain about AdCom evaluation processes..

yeah .. it could be random.

But on the other side , i think they start from candidates who submitted towards the end ( First in , Last out )
plenty of personal instances where this happened , submitted both McDonough and Broad on the last day and bang the interview invites in the first week itself. My friend who submitted Kelley on the last date has an invite.

I emailed the adcom and received a very political reply asking me to be patient.
