Hello
So I'm not asking for me, but actually for my wife who just got accepted into Wharton MBA for R2.
My wife was also admitted into Kellogg 1Y MBA during R1.
So! Interesting dilemma of Kellogg 1Y MBA vs Wharton MBA, which is 2Y.
What are your thoughts? There's obviously a higher opportunity cost on 2Y with Wharton vs 1Y with Kellogg, but Wharton...well enough said

Congrats to your wife and my apologies for not getting to this topic sooner. I took some time off 
I guess it depends on where you are heading for your MBA (if you are that is) and what her goals/plans are. If she is staying in her field and does not plan to change her industry, I think Kellogg could be a great choice with lower opportunity cost. At the same time if she does not have strong brands on the resume and wants to go into Tech, MBB, or Finance PE/IB roles, I would strongly consider Wharton.
Kellogg has its strong points too - consulting, CPG, and Tech are strong though MBB will be competitive across the board and without a summer internship could be tricky to recruit since it would be just a few months into her MBA, competing with seasoned 2-nd years unless there is a different track for the 12-month program. FuturePM91 - do you know by chance how it would work for the 12-month MBA?

Most 1Y MBA’s at Kellogg are sponsored by their employers. Those that aren’t do compete for full time roles with second years but I haven’t noticed any FT recruiting disadvantage really, in general only half of the 2nd years from the 2y program re-recruit so it’s a smaller pool anyway. I think the main value prop of the 1y program is faster completion if you don’t care about interning or have already done extensive coursework in business fundamentals (1Ys skip some of the core) hence why it attracts sponsored students. If your wife doesn’t want to do an internship or is a sponsored student 1y is a great option. Otherwise I would pick a 2 year program.
