Does anyone on this forum know from past experience what the conversion rate is like for interviews to admits? It is more the case that getting the interview is the biggest hurdle or the majority of interviewees won't make the cut in the end?

I'm interested in this as well. Anyone know of people receiving rejections. This forum is probably biased towards those more inclined to be prepared for their applications/interview.

For LBS MiM’21 729 people were interviewed out of 1432 applications and then about 354 offers were extrended.

Wow that's a very high acceptance rate! I was expecting more in the region of 5% not about 25%. Even with the extra applications this year acceptance rate should still be 15%+ especially for Round 1 applicants

For everyone else I have checked out some past FOI (Freedom of Information) requests on LBS admission statistics over the years. Across all of their programmes the ratio of interviews to admits is pretty close to 2:1 so if you got an interview you're literally 50% of the way there xD

No, there is a very good reason why LBS has you write essays and short responses and submit a CV. Scores/grades are merely one part of your application that serve as a competency filter. Competency, though, is only a small indicator of career success and what they are really looking for out of your application is whether you have a clear idea of your career goals, whether you have an understanding of what it means to work in your target industry, whether you have a business mindset, and whether you can carry yourself well in a professional setting. It is more than possible to have excellent stats and submit a profile that is does not instill confidence in your understanding of your career goals - this would most likely result in a rejection.

22 y/o American Male
750 GMAT
3.5 GPA in Mathematics from a top US University (In the tier of Duke, Cornell, Northwestern, Berkeley)
Will have 6 mos of work exp prior to matriculation in Healthcare IT

Yes and no, they will reject your application if you do not meet the entry requirement of 3.3GPA and preferably 600+ in GMAT (they state this on their website) unless you have genuine extenuating reasons that can explain this.

Otherwise, they take a holistic approach so each part of your profile matters. From reading through the profiles of people applying this year it was especially competitive, so your friend's overall profile probably didn't make the cut.
