The undergrad and GMAT seem good enough. I think it finally boils down to the essays submitted.

Hes a cfa level 3 clear too. I think it was essays and LORs only

Congratulations to everyone who has got a call.
People who got the call, do ya'll mind sharing your profiles? One of my friends got rejected and I can't seem to understand why.
Also does Lbs reject solely on purpose of undergrad score or gmat score?

Yes and no, they will reject your application if you do not meet the entry requirement of 3.3GPA and preferably 600+ in GMAT (they state this on their website) unless you have genuine extenuating reasons that can explain this.

Otherwise, they take a holistic approach so each part of your profile matters. From reading through the profiles of people applying this year it was especially competitive, so your friend's overall profile probably didn't make the cut.

3.3/4 is what %? he has a 75% in his undergrad. His gmat was 690

Without knowing what country/uni he's from 75% is pretty meaningless - e.g. in the UK 75% is a high first, anything above 70% would translate to a 4/4 GPA but I am sure that's not the case everywhere. The minimum entry requirement is so low I don't think that's why your friend is rejected (I would say 99% of applicants do meet this requirement) 690 in GMAT seems decent but probably not good enough for this year. Their MiM GMAT average is already about 690 for successful applicants and this year is especially competitive so I would expect it to be higher. Unless he has really good internships/Extracurriculars or he did his application (essays + LoR) really well I don't think his profile would have got an interview anyways if everything else is average.

We're from India, if that helps. So maybe more competition from our country. Also he's a cfa level 3 clear with a 1.5 years of work ex in Private Equity. I expected him to get a call since his work ex would've compensated for gpa/gmat

I think the MiM program is for people who have a work ex of maximum 2 years at the time of joining the program. Did you verify the eligibility from the admissions office?

Hey Guys,

I'm planning on applying to the MIM program at LBS this year, but don't know if my profile's good enough. A quick profile eval by the folks who got an interview invite or anyone in general would help. Also, I've not yet appeared for the GMAT so I'd like to know what would be an ideal GMAT score which I should target.

Country - India

Undergrad - Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science engineering from a State university

GPA - Top 10-15% of my class

IELTS 8/9 (don't know if it's relevant)

Extracurriculars - Started and led 2 student clubs on campus, won 15-20 national level first prize in multiple business and tech events, represented India in an anti terrorism convention, hired by IIT Bombay to host an event)

Internships - Strategy and Operations internships at TikTok, a startup run by a Harvard Business School MBA grad, and also worked as a digital consultant for a Stand up comedian. Currently working at a Private Equity firm as an Analyst and helping in performing due diligence and scouting for M&A deals for portcos and for potential portco investment.

Post MIM goal - work at a Strategy Consulting firm in the PE space.

Thanks in advance!

I got an email yesterday asking me to confirm my preferred location. Just so there wouldn't be a problem with the time zone, because the interviews will be online anyway

What's the turnaround time like for the interview? Were you given at least a week's warning to prepare or was it non-negotiable and within the next few days?

I have yet to receive anything either so do let me know what they say! Although I suspect this will vary by region, they will also probably do the alumni interviews first because they are probably busy people and need more time to plan the interviews to make sure the decisions come out in time.

On a separate note, are all the decisions released at the same time like they did for the interview invitations?

They put the onus on me to schedule the interview. Said that if you are unable to make contact with the interviewer within 5 days to reach out to admissions, and that the interview must be completed within three weeks. Other than that seems to be fairly flexible, they just wanted me to follow up with admissions to let them know when we had set our interview time.

I suspect as an American I may be lucky in that there are plenty of local LBS alumni to go around and not a huge number of applicants
