Hi all,
I got admitted with LBS, Kellogg 2 y, and Insead (Jan intake) this year and it's really hard for me to make decisions here. Thereforewould like to seek for advise on this platform.
I'm originally from Asia and seeking for the role of Product Manager/Project Manager in a tech firm after my MBA. Ideally to work in Europe or Asia.
I know getting into tech Kellogg should be a no-brainer, however, I'm not really interested in working in the US and leaner to the lifestyle in Europe. Moreover Kellogg is pretty expensive and I got quite a pressure without scholarships.
I do like the supportive community & education in Kellogg but also struggled with the great location of LBS, intimate student relationships & high efficiency (1Y) in Insead. I will say I care about the school vibes, relationships between classmates, and career support the most when choosing, but it is just so hard to tell.
I love London the city and would like to spend some time in my life there, but I think maybe I still got chance to move there after graduation. For the case of Insead, I know students are living together which creates a stronger bonding, plus that I will have a 6-month gap before the start of school which allows me to go on some traveling. This is really attractive to me of the career gap!
Does anyone have ideas about the school's career support for tech areas for LBS & Insead?
Pre-MBA : 5 years working in Tech (IT consultant, PM)
Post MBA goal : FAANG or startups, (prefer in Europe/Asia)
Thank you all!!
Hello
wyola52 many congratulations on the admits!
Between LBS and INSEAD it really should come down to your personal preference. From a brand perspective for tech recruiting in Europe and Asia, I do not think there is any difference in perception between the two schools. With INSEAD you would be able to spend time on both campuses if that interests you. Having any reminiscence of a forgone US admit, you can also try for the INSEAD-Wharton/Kellog integrated program if you wish to explore opportunities in the States. Given how fast-paced the Insead program is, your campus bonding experience will pass in the blink of an eye
But INSEADers go out of way to stay connected and you may utilize the 6 months you have before the class begins bonding and travelling with other students.
I do not know much about the LBS culture, but the brand and the location are key differentiators if London is on your radar.
Best wishes
