Hi Guys,
I would really appreciate help to understand if I stand any chance for an MBA in USA at 2 year work ex level or below (targeting top 15-20 schools)
I plan to get into consulting (strategy to be specific)
Profile:
Undergraduation: NIFT, Bachelors in Fashion Technology (GPA- 8.1)
GMAT score: 700 (Q48 V37) (second attempt, first was 610 if at all it matters)
work experience: 1 year full time as an Entrepreneur, started and run a cafe profitably for one year at the age of 19 with a team of 5 people along with college. Currently working on my E-commerce business in Handicraft space. The start up is selected in top 10 budding handicraft start ups in country by Govt of India.
extra curriculars:
1) district level athlete (have over 10 gold medals), founded athletics club in the college.
2) Head of student council at school
Your profile is very good. You can get into top 15-20 colleges though top 5 would be difficult.
However, I would recommend you give your startup a couple of years and then go for MBA as then most colleges (even those within top 5) will be easy to reach. Also, you will be able to take full advantage of the MBA as your work experience will give you unique insights and you will be able to decipher what parts of MBA will help your startup. Also, you will have good amount of money to pay for your MBA with your profitable startups.
Best of luck
