Hi Experts,
I’m a Chartered Accountant with 2.5 yrs of experience of Big 4. As an MBA degree in Finance is a great value addition to a CA degree, I’ve recently started GMAT preparation through Jamboree online classes.
Can anyone please suggest me the B-schools which I should target (keeping in mind that I want to study MBA in Finance)?
What score should I target?
When should I plan to write the exam so that I don’t get late for the applications( i’m already a month into preparation)?

Hi abhasj,
Apologies for the delay in responding to you but we hope this will be of help to you still.
If you are targetting the top 15 US programs, you must look for a score upwards of 750 (of course, there are a number of other things that will need to be taken care of as well) and should get done with your GMAT before August sets in
At this point, we suggest that you concentrate on giving the GMAT your best shot. The entire process of shortlisting schools becomes a lot more meaningful with a score in hand.

Hello abhasj,
The schools of your choice could depend on which region you choose. If you are looking at a career in finance, you could choose schools in and around the Trade capitals of the world. Maybe a Singapore / London / NY kind of cities would be a good choice. Every MBA program has a lot of people from CA background. As you rightly said it complements your CA background.
To get into the top schools focus on a good GMAT Score. Make sure you have milestones for your prep and also are measuring the effectiveness of the prep at each point.
