How many indian applicants have received the invite for R2? Reading back as per my understanding only 1 guy (kt1989) got the invite.

How soon do interviews have to be completed after the invitation? My email didn't give a time frame on it, but thought I'd seen it referenced on here before. TIA.

It's best to sign up as soon as possible, I believe you must at lease sign up within one week of receiving the invitation. This will usually lead you to complete the interview within a few weeks of the invitation.

Applicants whose toefl waiver requests have been approved, how long did it take for the approval?

It takes about three weeks for TOEFL waivers to be approved

Can we expect more invites to be pushed out or do you all think we most of the invites have been sent out already ? Thoughts ?

Interview invites are far from over. My TOEFL waiver is not yet processed and I have not received any application complete mail. This tells me that they haven't gone through all the applications yet. So, whether I get an invite or not, there ought to be more invites.

Thanks,

as per class profile of MBA'15, 19% consists of international students, i.e., 52 intl students in a class size 275.

Let's assume that 15-20 seats will be filled by R1 accepted students leaving out 32-37 for R2.

So, our chance of getting in is roughly 7-8% at best, that too not factoring in the country wise demographic that the school wants.

Now that's the challenge to cross! 8-)

Actually breaking it down by those statistics are wrong, it's even harder for you. There are tons and tons and tons of Indian and Chinese people with jacked up GMAT scores, in fact you're the most overrepresented demographic.

So you're not actually competing against all the other international people as much as you are battling for the 3-4 international spots of people of your nationality with your background.. which is why it's actually far harder for you.

Sorry dude.

I've heard from so many adcoms if you're Indian/Chinese with a high GMAT score with a tech/engineering background you're in a lot of trouble right off the bat.

I forgot to mention I have only 2.5 yrs of work ex till now.
Well the admit will be even sweeter then ;)
Am just saying I know the odds are pretty much against me, but that's what makes me even more thrilled. Plus I have researched a lot about the program and I really like McCombs and Texas both. So keeping my fingers crossed.

There is still more than a month for the final result date. Hence, there is a lot of time for the interview invites to come. I got toefl waiver only on Friday

So I decided to do a search in my gmail for McCombs and found that apparently I got an interview invite 6 days ago but dumb gmail put in the promotions section. Anyone have that problem? Either way if you haven't gotten an interview, check your promotions section in gmail. Anyway, I got an interview for February 23rd. Any tidbits? I read before that the interviews with McCombs are very long by b school standards. I think I remember someone saying and hour 15. Is that true?

Have any R1 folks who were waitlisted received any word from McCombs?

I noticed in last year's thread something about an optional video interview that waitlisted candidates could complete...

Would love any updates on this thread or on the waitlisted thread.

I think this is optimistic as well, as they've already released all the booking availabilities through the end of the month already....

Are all the on campus interviews booked? I just checked and didn't see any available days. :(

I would have loved to visit the campus in addition to having my interview.

Yeah they're all taken. I checked about 30 minutes after the emails were sent out - there was only 3 dates left, this upcoming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!

:( I'm flying down from Canada on Wednesday... for less than 24 hours. FML.

GL on your interview!

Gmail did this to me too, but luckily my phone doesn't filter it so I saw it right away.

I had my interview today with an alum in my city. It was pretty much exactly an hour, but could gone longer if I had more questions (most were answered as we talked). I'll echo what others have said, it was mainly tell me about yourself/resume, then why MBA, why McCombs, what are you looking for in an MBA experience, etc. It was very conversational though, so it was never structured as really direct questions. I don't know if it was just my interviewer's style or if it's like that for all McCombs interviews, but he gave me a lot of leeway to steer the conversation to touch on points that I felt important. We also discussed his experiences within the program a lot and he gave me a lot of good insight.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I was a little nervous going into it, but his attitude and tone helped put me at ease pretty quickly and it turned into a friendly discussion instead of a more formal "interview."

Thanks! Those questions sound refreshingly straight forward and relatively simple. I love conversational interviews. I had one that was more conversational with Tepper and thought I rocked it (though I got waitlisted) and had a bit of a more formal one with McDonough and didn't feel as good about that one (that I'm waiting a response on).

Does anyone know if McCombs is more or less strict in how many people they interview?

Now that we are talking about interviews and preparing for interviews is the next logical step(instead of biting our nails), I am sharing this great post I came across about interviews.

Had an awesome interview today on campus. Was a bit nervous but the interview was more of a conversation. My interviewer was very welcoming and engaging and we shot the **** after the formal interview for a bit.

Will add more detail later but the content basically followed what everyone else was saying.
