I wouldn't get too down just yet. If you look at the % admitted on page 1 of this thread you'll notice that of the self-reported gmatclub applicants, 14% have been accepted in R2 so far. This contrasts with a presumed final acceptance of 30% for R1 and tells me that there are more acceptances to come.

Looking at last year's thread for acceptance %:
R1: 42%
R2: 46%
R3: 26%
R4: 12%

These aren't really the best statistics to take on their own but I'd imagine the general trend would be somewhat consistent.

Now if I could just get myself to stop reading this thread...

Valid point. They said that there was a big influx on R2 with over 1,000 apps. Has anyone seen anything on the volume of R3 applicants? The deadline was 3/27 so I am sure that they are trying to plow throw those to hit the target yields on U.S. applicants.

Definitely still lots of hope that their 2016R2 notifications will be more consistent with 2016R1 when it goes out the day of!

The reason why there was an explosion of R2 apps this year is because there is only 3 rounds this year not 4.

So is it possible that due to the explosion more people get admits late? That list posted really had me down, but if there are a whole bunch of people applying in round 2 maybe they didn't have time to contact everyone weeks ago. I also had my interview about a month after the deadline. Who knows? At least there are 2 days left, but I fully except a waitlist at best.

Has any Texas resident been accepted yet for R2? My roommate is applying for UT law this year and said that they look for ~65% attendance by Texas residents. Their admission is rolling with a 3/1 deadline. The last McCombs class was ~35-40% Texas...

All we can do is speculate. What I HOPE is that given the big overlap between R3 applications and R2 notifications, with the later-than-average R2 January deadline they might be trying to avoid waitlisting R2ers while they interview R3ers and balance their anticipated yields -- Texas. international, female, zodiac signs, etc.

Law school != Business School.

Tomorrow should be quite a flurry of admits, waitlists, and (unfortunately) dings. Good luck to everyone!

Anyone else receive an email from McCombs suggesting you apply to their MSTC program? This probably isn't the best sign... : (
