Do you think we'll be hearing throughout the week or will they just announce everything on the 9th?
On Round 1 2016 people heard up until decision day on admits. It seems those waitlisted heard before those admitted. However, based on last year's thread -- during the middle rounds, it appears that the people who are accepted heard earlier -- while those who heard closer to the date were dinged/waitlisted.
I was not anxious about McCombs until an hour ago. I have been interviewing for some jobs and was recently advised by a former JPM commodities exec that the part time MBAs from McCombs and Jones are strong alternatives. It was tough to hear that, but I need to know my options so I can start building out models for the scenarios!
Also was in San Fran over the weekend and met an IBM consultant that recently graduated from Moore. She had put down a deposit for McCombs five years ago, but ended up going to Moore (South Carolina) since they offered more money. She said that she now wishes she had attended McCombs regardless of the cash. A former McKinsey director a few weeks ago even talked about how he felt a UT diploma was much more powerful than his Wharton MBA in Houston's energy market.
So much hype for McCombs MBA! #ShouldHaveAppliedFirstRound

Based on last year's thread -- it appears that people who were accepted in Round 3 2015 heard a week prior -- while those who heard closer to the date were dinged/waitlisted. Last year they had four rounds, so that's based on an assumption that Round 3 2015 is as competitive as Round 2 2016.

I wouldn't get too down just yet. If you look at the % admitted on page 1 of this thread you'll notice that of the self-reported gmatclub applicants, 14% have been accepted in R2 so far. This contrasts with a presumed final acceptance of 30% for R1 and tells me that there are more acceptances to come.
Looking at last year's thread for acceptance %:
R1: 42%
R2: 46%
R3: 26%
R4: 12%
These aren't really the best statistics to take on their own but I'd imagine the general trend would be somewhat consistent.
Now if I could just get myself to stop reading this thread...
