Does anyone have a suggestion on hotels?

Any of the hotels in Rosslyn make it really easy to get to campus - just a brief drive/cab/walk across the Key Bridge. I stayed at the Marriott for about $90. It was a bit run down but perfectly suitable for a quick trip. There's also a Hyatt which is a bit nicer.

Thank you Finance Lady!

Hello everyone! Quick question, when I enter the online app to see my status there is no "Application Status" link, just wondering if you are having the same problem?

My application has been successfully submitted, so I hope they received it and are processing it! (I applied on 05JAN14).

Received an invite yesterday afternoon. Submitted on January 5th. Interestingly, I never received any type of confirmation email until January 14th followed by the invite email yesterday.

I got an interview invite on Thursday, which is less than a week after my recommender sent his rec to McDonough. Do you guys know what percentage of people that interview get accepted? The number is already pretty high out of all applicants, close to 50% and considering it's invite only I can see it being more than 50%.

General rule of thumb is 50% of those interviewed get in.

So if say 15% of people get in without an interview, maybe 70% of the remainder get an interview with 50% (35% overall) getting in?

But from what GMATClub and US News (that may be GMATClub's source though) say is that McDonough accepts about 50% already. So the chances are the same with the interview as without? I'm also surprised some people would get in without an interview. Why not just interview people to make sure?

I'm just hazarding a guess. Typically if you get interviewed you have a 50/50 shot, in this case that implies all 100% get interviewed. So I just adjusted the numbers a little.

It's all speculation.

Not sure % of applicants that receive interview invites but 100% of accepted applicants were interviewed. You absolutely must interview to be admitted. Even those on the WL without interview must be interviewed before having the opportunity to move off the list (rather than simply moving off the list once a spot opens).

From the Admissions page:

Admissions Interview
Interviews are required for admission to the Georgetown MBA Programs. The evaluative interview helps the Admissions Committee learn about you as an individual and further assess your candidacy. The interview also provides you with an opportunity to share supplemental information to support your candidacy. Invitations to interview will be extended following each application deadline, and will be offered by invitation only. - See more at: https://msb.georgetown.edu/mba/admission ... eJDQS.dpuf

EDIT: Misread the above discussion but will keep post up (may be helpful to some).

Ah, I think you're reaching a bit to fit McDonough into a rule that probably isn't correct for every school. I doubt they interview everyone, otherwise why would they provide interviews just by request? But who knows? I appreciate you taking a stab at it.

You misunderstand. Obviously they aren't interviewing everyone, that would be silly.

What I'm saying is that typically 50% of those interviewed get in, which in this case (since Gtown admits 50% of the people) would mean they interview everyone.

Obviously that doesn't happen.

But if their interview process is anything like other schools, it means they interview a lot of people due to their high acceptance rates.

They probably to interview a lot of people. Considering how quickly the interview came, especially. Though my Tepper interview came quickly too. I know some schools like Stern only interview people close to acceptance though.

So, you're saying that if they admit 50% of the people. And, you have received a request for an interview, that you have a BETTER than 50% chance of getting into Georgetown.

That should be cause for a mild celebration for those who have received the invitation.
