International experience-
My education has been very diverse. I spent my 1st-4th grade in Turkmenistan and then came back to India. For my final year of Highschool, I went to Tajikistan. I have also done an offline internship here, in Tajikistan, with colleagues who came from diverse backgrounds. I also went to SciencesPo for a one month summer school to study about the EU and its functioning.
Some of my target universities include ESCP, Stockholm School of Economics, ESMT, ESADE, IE, and Em Lyon. I know these are some very big names and that's why i'll appreciate any harsh and critical evaluation of my profile. Post-MIM, I wish to enter the social sector in project management. Thank you a lot!!
Kripandey Academics: Your GPA scores in both undergraduate and high school are very good. Aim to maintain or improve your grades in your remaining semesters. The target GMAT and IELTS scores you indicated would put you in a good position: a 720+ GMAT would make your profile even stronger.
Internships: Your diverse internship experiences across communications, marketing, and sales are interesting. In your applications, make sure to highlight your key projects/ achievements in these internships, how it impacted the organizations, what you learned, and how these learnings can translate to your MiM journey. Since your post-MiM goal is to enter social sector in project management, try pursuing internships that align more closely with this field/ domain. This would demonstrate to the AdComs your interest and skills in that area, and that you have gone beyond researching to gain practical experience.
Extracurricular Activities: Good diverse list of activities. In your applications, make sure to highlight (similar to my point above) what you learned in these activities, what skills you developed (e.g. creativity, leadership, communication abilities) and how these can help with your MiM and post-MiM journey.
International Experience: Your experiences studying in different countries, such as Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, India and summer school at SciencesPo, add a valuable international perspective to your profile. Make sure to highlight the cross-cultural experiences, adaptability, and global outlook you gained from these experiences. Your target schools would highly value this exposure.
Post-MiM Goal: Articulate your passion for the social sector and your motivation for pursuing a project management role (i.e. the "why" part) in your application essays. Also make sure to research your target schools in-depth to identify which organizations from the social sector have recruited for project management roles in the past (ideally 2-3 years). Then identify, through the schools brochure/ websites and by reaching out to alumni, which resources (e.g. courses, alumni network, professors, etc.) within the school can help you achieve this goal. Highlighting these clearly can make your application compelling.
Regarding the decision to apply in the current intake or take a gap year, it is a personal decision. However, consider factors such as how prepared you are for the application process, your GMAT/ IELTS scores, timelines for your target programs, and your personal/ financial circumstances. If you feel ready, you should proceed with the current intake. However, if you believe taking a gap year will allow you to further enhance your profile through additional experiences, particularly internships, better test scores, etc. it can make sense.
Hope this helps. If you have more/ specific questions, schedule a FREE chat through the link below. All the best!
