Thank you in advance!

👋 Hey harshiithsapra,

I came across your profile evaluation query on the forum and thought I'd reach out to offer some assistance from my own experience.

So here is what I would suggest:

Strengths:

➡️ Strong Academic Foundation: Your 8.34 CGPA in Computer Science demonstrates you can handle rigorous programs. This could put you at an advantage for MBA programs like Oxford Said that appreciate tech-savvy candidates.

➡️ GMAT Score: A 710 GMAT is above the 700 mark, making you competitive for programs like Warwick or Imperial College.

➡️ Technical and Business Acumen: Your experience as an Investment Specialist, where you developed a machine learning algorithm, can be a key differentiator. For example, London Business School is keen on AI and machine learning applications in business.

➡️ Certifications from Prestigious Universities: Your certificates from the University of London, HEC Paris, and ISB add substance to your profile and show your commitment to continuous learning.

Areas for Improvement:

➡️ Unspecified Work Tenure: You haven't mentioned the length of your work experience, which is crucial for schools like LBS that require at least two years.
Suggestions:

➡️ Quantify Achievements: For instance, specify by what percentage your algorithm outperformed existing benchmarks or how much revenue growth you achieved at DRNK.

➡️ Expand Networking: Given your goal of entering UK schools, perhaps attend webinars or informational sessions related to these schools to build rapport and understanding of what they're looking for.

Target Schools:

➡️ Dream: LBS, Oxford Said
➡️ Competitive: Imperial, Warwick
➡️ Safe: Cass, Durham, Manchester

If you need more help, we'd be happy to set up a FREE call and give more pointers on how to improve your profile and the right schools you should target.

👋 Hey uck_of,

I came across your profile evaluation query on the forum and thought I'd reach out to offer some assistance from my own experience.

So here is what I would suggest:

Strengths:
➡️ International Experience: Your diverse geographic background gives you a unique worldview. For example, understanding business practices in Korea, China, and the UK can make you a desirable candidate for any multinational company or consultancy.

➡️ Academic Excellence: With a degree in Management from Warwick, one of the UK's premier institutions, and a second-highest mark, you have proven your academic mettle. Coupled with a GMAT score of 750, you align with the high standards of your target schools.

➡️ Highly Relevant Internships: Short stints at top-tier consultancies like MBB demonstrate focus and skill-building in a condensed time frame. This will be especially appealing to Oxford MFE and LBS MFA that prioritize industry-relevant experience. Focus on showcasing quantifiable results for eg. a project or a team that you led, or the number of clients you worked for

➡️ Leadership and Engagement: Taking on executive roles in societies, specifically in planning and organizing, are skills directly transferable to a career in consulting.

Suggestions:
➡️ For a more diversified profile, consider increasing your community service or extracurricular participation in areas beyond corporate events and case competitions.

➡️ Remember that GMAT is just 1/4th of your application, as the rest depends on how you craft a compelling narrative and story.

School Recommendations:
➡️ Oxford MFE and LBS MFA align well with your consulting career aspirations. INSEAD MiM would capitalize on your international exposure. HEC and LSE can also provide significant advantages to your profile.

If you need more help, we'd be happy to set up a FREE call and give more pointers on how to improve your profile and the right schools you should target.

Hello uck_of,

Thanks for writing in.

Your academic performance, GMAT score, and international exposure will put you at a strong advantage; the career goals also appear to be in sync; however, since you are targetting the global top-notch programs, a lot will also depend on how well you weave your story along with your career goals. In short, you will need to put forth a set of compelling essays that aptly describe your strengths and motivation.

All the best!

Hello everyone
Requesting a profile review + trying to get few queries solved regarding MiM Programs

Indian Male Engineer
GMAT 710 Q50 V34
Currently in my final year
Top 10 Undergrad Univ

CGPA till date - 9/10, current class rank 9/120
12th - 87%
10th - 97%

3 internships till date at small startups - 2 in Marketing and 1 in SCM
Relevant Certifications present
Tried a startup idea but closed before incorporating it

Now my confusion is as below:
1. Which is beneficial - Joining directly after my Btech or taking a gap of 1 year, get some experience and then applying for the MiM programs
2. Which programs should I prefer? - Short duration ones from reputed institutions like INSEAD, LBS, Kellogg or the extended versions from HeC Paris, ESCP, ESSEC
3. Which region b-schools should I prefer? US Schools like Kellogg, U Mich, Duke(for a better pay + better opportunities but newer MiM programs) or Europe Schools like HeC, INSEAD, LBS ??

Please guide me on how should I find the answers to the above questions. I know it will depend entirely upon me

Hey ramlk👋 ,

👇 Here is your detailed profile evaluation:

Strengths:
👉 Academics: Your CGPA of 9/10 and class rank of 9/120 are strong metrics..
👉 GMAT Score: A 710 score is impressive for most MiM programs.
👉 Entrepreneurial Spirit: Attempted startup and internships in Marketing and SCM show initiative and multi-disciplinary interest.

Areas for improvement:
👉 Gap Year: Given your strong profile, direct entry post-BTech would be feasible, but a year of work can add valuable perspective.
👉 Program Duration: Longer programs like HEC, ESCP, ESSEC offer depth, but INSEAD, LBS, and Kellogg offer brand power in less time. Align with your career goals.
👉 Region: US programs offer high earning potential but are newer and less established in the MiM space. European programs are established but offer slightly less earning potential.

Final Thoughts:
👉 You're in a strong position academically and experientially for most top MiM programs. The answers to your queries depend on your long-term career goals, appetite for risk, and regional work preferences. Given your strengths, focusing on brand-rich or extended programs both have their merits. Choose based on your ultimate career aims.

Hi, would be really glad to have my profile evaluated for MiM (targeting LBS and INSEAD for 2024 intake)

Gender : Male
Nationality : Indian
Age : 22 as of now, will be 23 during admission

Undergrad :
I have a dual degree (B.E. Hons. in Mechanical Engineering plus M.Sc. Hons. Economics) from a top 10 (not IIT) university in India. Graduating in 2024.
Been a part of the college's debate club. Represented the college in inter-collegiate debate competitions, and received awards.

Undergrad CGPA : 6.5 out of 10 as of now, expected to cross 7 by the time I graduate.
I know that this is on the lower side, especially for an Indian male, but this happened due to the fact that I completed both degrees (academic part) in four years (or eight semesters) with an average of eight courses per semester.

GMAT : Haven't taken it yet, but received 700 in a mock (without any preparation). I think around 750 should be doable for me, with a little hard work and practice.

Work Experience :
Currently working as an intern for six months with a renowned MNC in Bangalore. Will be interning at a similar company for another six months from January 2024, as part of college requirements.
Interned for two months with a well-recognized non-profit in India.
Worked as business development and marketing head with a BITS based startup, which unfortunately did not go beyond alpha testing stage.
Worked as a product development trainee with CISCO, Bangalore as part of their Talent Hunt program, but this happened in high school.

High school scores (if relevant) :
10 CGPA in Class X CBSE Board Examinations.
96% in Class XII CBSE Board Examinations.
Represented the school in debate and MUN competitions, and received awards.
Was an NTSE (National Talent Search) Scholar - a very competitive and highly regarded scholarship awarded by the Government of India

International Experience : Studied in France for a year, but this was during elementary school

Hey stark28👋 ,

👇 Here is your detailed profile evaluation:

Strengths:
👉 Diverse Academic Background: Your dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics is compelling and differentiates you.
👉 High School Achievements: Excellent board results and NTSE scholarship add credibility.
👉 Debate & MUN Participation: Demonstrates strong communication and analytical skills.
👉 Early-stage Work Experience: Your internships, particularly with a renowned MNC, are strong for a MiM applicant.
👉 Potential GMAT Score: A mock score of 700 without preparation is promising; a 750 would make you highly competitive.

Areas for improvements:
👉 Undergrad GPA: Given your double major and intense course load, you have a reason for the low GPA, but it's still slightly low.
👉 Lack of International Experience: Your elementary school year in France is interesting but may not carry significant weight at this stage.

Strategies for Success:
👉 GMAT: A high score of around 710+ can counterbalance your low GPA.
👉 Essays & Interviews: Highlight your diverse academic background, early leadership in business development roles, and strong communication skills.
👉 Leverage International Exposure: Even though it's early-stage, your time in France could be spun as a story to add depth to your profile.
👉 Given your potential, you would be a competitive applicant for MiM programs at LBS and INSEAD, especially if you hit that 710+ GMAT score and carefully craft your narrative to showcase your unique strengths.

Hi guys,
I am aiming to give GMAT this year.
If someone can help me judge my profile. And help me suggesting which b schools to apply for MiM/MBA programs and GMAT score needed. Aiming for top schools mostly in Europe, USA, singapore.

I am from India.

I have done my ug in computer science engineering.
10-95, 12-92.6,ug-69.9

I am currently working as a technical consultant in an MNC I have completed 11 months of workex as per current status.
I have done 4-5 intermships also.

I have been head for college events and football team.
Also, have played football at district level.

I want to do management/strategy consulting in top 15 consulting firms.

I am currently also working as DJ at nightclubs in India.

Posted from my mobile device

Hey KshitijMehta0312👋 ,

👇 Here is your detailed profile evaluation:

Strengths:
👉 Work Experience: 14 months as a functional consultant, supplemented by nearly 12-14 months of internships, positions you well for an MBA.
👉 Certifications: Diverse Coursera certifications show commitment to continuous learning.
👉 Extra-Curriculars: Being a part-time DJ and football player adds uniqueness to your profile.
👉 Strong GMAT Mock Scores: 730 and 700 are solid and align with the competitive range for your target schools.

Areas for improvement:
👉 Low CGPA: 6.99/10 from IIIT Pune is low but can be mitigated by a high GMAT score.
👉 Short Work Experience: At matriculation, you'll have less work experience compared to typical MBA candidates.
👉 French Reservations: Since you're skeptical about France, it could limit your options with HEC, ESCP, ESSEC, and INSEAD.

Schools and GMAT:
👉 Duke, USC Marshall, Imperial, IE, ESSEC, Rotterdam: With a 710+ GMAT, you'll be competitive here.
👉 INSEAD, HEC: Given your reservation about France, these may be lower on your list. But still viable with a 720+ GMAT.

Final Thoughts:
With your strong GMAT score, diverse interests, and targeted post-MBA goals, you have a good shot at your desired schools. For maximum impact, focus on your unique selling points—such as your DJing and consulting experience—when crafting your narrative.

Fantastic profile; Very high chances and likelihood for you to get admits, with decently strong application.
With the help of a good consultant though, a compelling story, and strong application strategy and essays, you can also get a lot of good scholarship.

Happy to help

👋 Hey rahulgopal25,

Here is a detailed profile evaluation for you!

🌟 In-Depth Analysis:
📚 Academics: Your GMAT score of 720 is very strong 🌟 and can act as a mitigating factor for your GPA. Schools often see a high GMAT as evidence of academic aptitude.

💼 Work Experience: Though you lack formal work experience, the 1-month internship can be valuable if articulated well in applications. Make sure to highlight any leadership or significant projects during that period.

🤝 Community Involvement: You mentioned involvement in social activities during school, which shows initial community engagement. Bringing those experiences into your essays could fill in some gaps in your undergrad years.

📝 School Recommendations:
🌟 Dream Schools: With no work experience and a low GPA, dream schools like HEC Paris or LBS may be a stretch.

🔵 Competitive Schools: Schools like ESADE, IE Business School, Skema Business School could be more within reach.

🟢 Safe Schools: Consider programs like IESEG, Manchester, Edinburgh, or Grenoble.

In summary, the GMAT score is your strongest suit, and you should build your story around academic capability and future potential. Tailoring your essays to highlight even the smallest experiences that demonstrate leadership or impact can help build a compelling narrative.

If you need more help, we'd be happy to set up a FREE call and give more pointers on how to improve your profile and the right schools you should target.

Hello StevenGMATW,

Thanks for writing in.

You have a strong overall profile complete with limited but rich professional experience, fine international exposure, and strong extra-curricular activities; the key in your case is to bring together everything in your essays in a way that does not sound like a dump of information. The career goals also appear to be in sync.

Yes; a higher GMAT would have worked wonders; however, it would still be worth giving the schools you have listed a shot with a set of compelling essays in place. Needless to say, if there is any chance for you to improve your GMAT score, you must give it a shot.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

👋 Hey StevenGMATW,

Here is a detailed profile evaluation for you!

🌟 Strengths:

➡️ Diverse Experience: Your work stints ranging from EV charger management at a Fortune 500 company to consulting internships at renowned firms underscore a vast exposure in a short span.
➡️ Academic Rigor: A GPA of 86+ from a top-tier Chinese institution and participation in exchange programs at esteemed universities like Oxford and HKU strengthens your academic standing.
➡️ Competitive Spirit: Your achievements in the EY Young Tax Professional challenge and the AB InBev Campus Challenge speak volumes about your determination and acumen.
➡️ Holistic Development: Your involvement in the guitar and basketball clubs, along with a volunteering association, showcases a balanced profile, adding hues of personality beyond professional pursuits.

🛠 Areas to Enhance:

➡️ GMAT Score: While a 690 is commendable, it is just 25% of your application score so the rest 74% depends on your essays.
➡️ Deep Dive into Leadership Stories: Emphasize challenges faced, your role in overcoming them, and the impact you created during your project management and competition stints.

📝 Application Strategy:

➡️ Narrative Building: Craft a compelling narrative explaining your trajectory, how a MiM from the respective schools aligns with your aspirations, and your vision of contributing to the program and post-graduation.
➡️ School-Specific Customization: Tailor your essays and recommendations to resonate with each school's ethos and program-specific offerings.
➡️ Post-Master Goals: Clearly articulate how the MiM will bridge your current standing with your aspirations in MNCs or the consulting sector.

To conclude, you've made a strong case for your candidacy across prestigious MiM programs. Pay attention to the application's nuances, thoroughly research each school's offerings, and align them with your aspirations.

🎯 Target Schools

➡️ Dream - INSEAD, HEC Paris, LBS, LSE, Cornell, St. Gallen
➡️ Competitive - ESSEC, Imperial, Queen’s, NUS, Western University
➡️ Safe - UIUC, IESEG
