Hello to all GMAT CLUB members,
Thought I'd share what happened to me this week, in hopes of preventing others to be in this misfortunate situation:
I did my first GMAT a while ago and the result was not good enough, wanted to improve. I have been studying constantly for few months now,
and simultaneously completed my business school application, which has a deadline on March 4th.
I decided to take the exam right before the deadline, so I will have as much time as possible to prepare while working full time.
I used a business trip I had to Thailand and signed up long ago for the GMAT on Tuesday, March 3rd, in Chiang Mai. I paid, received confirmation and all seemed fine.
Today, after already flying especially for Chiang Mai in preparation for the exam, I received a notification that the exam center ('Movaci Technology' in Chiang Mai) had to
close unexpectedly and will no longer hold GMAT exams
AT ALL. (not a delay, a permanent closure). I was told my money will be refunded , and that I should book in a different test center.
The only other test center in the country is in Bangkok, and they don't have any free dates on such a late notice until after the application is due
I know it is my fault for keeping it for the last minute, but I thought I planned it perfectly as the rest of the application is done a while ago. Now i'm completely stuck and
leaning towards not applying at all That's it, I know I cannot get any help , but since this amazing forum helped me a lot, i thought i'd share this in order to potentially warn / prepare others.
Good luck everybody
