You can check out Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city). There are several free slots. Though the facility is quite old (I heard).

Hi. I am so sorry to hear about this.... it is very rare but it happens since the centers are operated by Pearson Vue and may be independent... so some come and some go. (At first I thought this was corona virus related) but it seems just a test center being closed... odd and unusual but not impossible. My suggestion would also be to look into other test centers in neighboring countries. When I was taking the GMAT, my country only had 1 test center so I traveled to take the test in another country about 10 hours by train. This ended up a nice distraction and a nice way to do it since I could focus on the GMAT for those few days and not be distracted with friends/etc. Not sure if you could pull something like that off but this could be a blessing in disguise.

Thank you for sharing your story! I contacted the gmat website right after I saw this post and they said it was because of corona virus. But still it's sad that they didn't inform us ASAP. I had a phone call with Movaci last week and they said something was wrong with the system so they wouldn't be able to provide the test till 24th Feb. I didn't think much about it because they also told me that it would be back to normal after 24th.
Even till now the status of my test is still "scheduled" but not "canceled". My tests have been canceled for 3 times in China already in the last month and that's why I decided to go to Chinagmai. I booked everything and my test is on 3rd March.
Anyways.. There are so many students in China just like me who are freaking out. I think I am going to hope for the best and plan for the worst for the whole situation. If it's not the right time, maybe I should just go do my master next year... We are going through a hard time in China. I am trying not to be too hard on myself for not taking the test at the end of last year even though I am 100% responsible for getting myself into the situation. But still, I wouldn't know the outbreak would happen.
Guys stay safe. Wear a mask. Peace.

If it is corona virus, then rescheduling may not help per se. I suspect they may close others. This is different than closing/shutting down.

Honestly can’t do much about it. I’m going to call Movaci tomorrow morning when I roll out of fed and confirm the whole situation again. I guess if I still want to start my master this year I will have to do the test in April in China and catch the last round of application. But no guarantee for tests in April either.
Also all the schools in China are closed so we can’t go back to our uni to do our final project. Been hanging at home forever... lol. From primary schools to Universities, institutions in the whole country are doing online classes. Parents who have younger kids are so pissed everyday because they are now teacher’s assistants at home. It’s hilarious and confusing ??

To be honest I don’t know. I signed an agent to help me with my applications and I’m not sure if she will be too thrilled with me changing the plan. (I’ve paid the full fee.)

This is their response.
So they will be back on business just don’t know when. The original post contains error.

Hello Mona,

Due to the current COVID-19 (aka Corona Virus) epidemic Movaci's Pearson VUE test center is currently closed and public access to our facilities is restricted.

We will tentatively re-open the center in April or May depending on the situation then.

Regards,

Christopher M

Thanks for updating!!! Is this the local situation in Vietnam or other test centers are affected elsewhere?

My test is in Chiangmai, Thailand. I don’t know whether the test center in Bangkok will cancel the tests or not. I’m not familiar with the situation in hcmc either.
For mainland China, all the TOEFL, IETLS, GMAT and GRE in February and March have been canceled.

Hi buenosaires,

Certain Schools are flexible when it comes to receiving your Official GMAT Score (meaning that as long as the rest of your application is in on time, you can still apply and send in your GMAT Score AFTER the actual deadline - and the School's Admissions Committee will still consider you an Applicant for the Round that you applied to). That policy will obviously vary from School to School, but given the nature of the Test Center cancellation, the Schools might be understanding of your situation and give you more time to submit your Score. As such, you might consider reaching out to the Schools that you plan to apply to, explain your situation and see how the Schools respond.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

I agree with what Rich said. Most schools allow you to take a test even after submitting. If you look in some apps they say “do you plan to take a future test” or something along those lines. They basically hold your application for the round and don’t actually move to committee until they have received scores.

Some schools though require official ones from Pearson on or before the deadline.

Check with your schools regarding timing and try to book a test at a test center that makes sense.
