Just expound on your short term goals by showing a direct & strong co-relation to your past work experiences. Although the long term goal is not explicitly being asked here, you can put in a sentence to show that there is some clarity in your thought process with regards to future career path; but obviously you shouldn't spend too much words on the long term goals. Doing the video is another great option, but remember to make it very impressive since this is optional; so just talking about the question in front of a camera is not going to cut it, you need to showcase a few skills in actual environment and relate them to your goals in a clear manner. Essay 2 The mission of NUS Business School is to advance knowledge and develop leaders so as to serve business and society. Discuss how you will contribute toward advancing the mission based on examples of past work and activities. 2. This is similar to a fit essay. You are being asked how can you contribute to the school's mission based on examples. You can mention both professional and personal examples, but first go to the school's website and take a look around to understand the school better. Go through the NUS MBA blogs and try to get an idea in to a normal day there and how the school shapes the people. Although it may seem a simple question, you really need to do some extensive research in order to give a great answer. Essay 3 Tell us something interesting or unique about yourself which you think would be helpful for the Admission Committee to better evaluate your candidacy. 3. This is very interesting topic indeed. It can be seen as a chance to portray strengths not clear in other parts of the app or it can be seen as a chance to explain any potential weak areas in your application. The key here is that however you choose to answer this essay, you need to keep in mind to make it unique and interesting and actually helpful from the AdComs perspective. Before actually writing the essay list out all the things you feel are different or great about you, not everything needs to be unique though; its the combination of multiple things in a single person such as you that make you unique. So not everything has to be unique in itself, but together the picture it portrays should be different and helpful not just to AdComs but also to you to get in. Essay 4 (Only applicable to re-applicants) Please provide an update on any new aspects of your professional, international, academic or personal profile that would not have been included in your previous application. Please also explain your motivation for re-applying to NUS. 4. Again, this is pretty straightforward. It would be helpful to do some analysis in the shortcomings of your last year application, if possible get some feedback on last year's rejection from the AdComs as well. Is anyone a re-applicant here. Needed help with finding a way to use certain components of my last year's application (I was dinged after the Interview), like GMAT Score, Recommendations etc. Is that possible in the case of NUS, others schools (for eg ISB) commonly allow this?

I have scanned their entire site, but there is no mention of any deadlines for the interview invites. But seeing how 31st March is the round 2 deadline, we can say that all round 1 interviews should be finished before that.

If anybody else has more firm info on this, please do share.

Hello Everyone

I applied to NUS in mid November and had my interview on the 5th of December. I am yet to receive any news from adcom, however when I called them, they said that they would release my decision in couple of weeks time. I am an Indian applicant based in Bahrain. With regards to my application

1. Type of interview (in person or via skype or telephone) : Skype interview on invitation
2. Approx time : 25 minutes
3. Interviewer(s) name and profile (if you remember, like an alumnus or AdCom member or professor): Ms Poh Hwee Bee, Head of Student Development Unit and Mr Alan Chua , Marketing Manager
4. Type of questions asked: Basic MBA questions and slightly more around my work experience.

The essays are bit different and may require extra attention. One of them is very similar to MIT's essay. Good luck

The interview was a panel-style interview conducted by 2 people: the head of career services and a member of the MBA marketing team. The questions were basic, for example:

1) Why MBA?
2) Why NUS?
3) Why Singapore, since there are so many good B-Schools in the US?
4) a) What other schools have you applied to?
b) Why NUS vs. those schools?
5) What is your plan B if you don't go to business school?
6) How did you hear about NUS?

Even so, make sure to do your research and ask them GOOD questions. I think that will be one of the important factors.

I submitted my application on 31st Jan 2014 (last day for scholarship - deadlines inspire me! )...but haven't yet heard anything about the Interview from NUS. Is there a date by which NUS will roll out the interview invites? How does this process work at NUS? Information on this topic will be really helpful.

I guess it takes about 3-4 weeks for them to send a decision. I had submitted on 30th Jan and received an email 2 days back (got rejected

).
User sfmesh also says he got the final admission confirmation in about 3 weeks from date of submission.
However, if you have not received any rejection, they must still be considering your app.

Compared to the school's average I have low GPA, less work-ex (2.5 yrs), fewer extra-curricular activities and no international work exposure; I knew it was difficult to get in this year but still tried anyways.

Although I am keen on the US schools, I applied at NUS as it aligns with my career goals. Simple as that.
This year I have applied at only 4 schools (3 in US). If I don't get in any place, then next year I might try for Insead and ISB as well.

What's your story? Got any admits yet?

@ganeshjagtap,
hmm.. was wondering because typically US schools offer 2 year program as compared to shorter versions in Europe/Asia. I think you have time in your favor considering 2.5 years work-ex. So duration should not matter to you I guess.. Anyways, best for US schools and Insead/ISB if you apply.
I have applied to NUS as of now.. have given the interview and waiting for their decision.. was too late to apply for INSEAD Aug'14 intake, so applying for Jan'15.. hopefully should submit in a week.
