I think we can all agree that the new wait list is almost as big as the original wait list. They simply did not release or admit anywhere near as many people as they said they would. I have no idea why, but looking at waitlist threads from prior years this is definitely out of the ordinary. And I dont really think its because of people under-reporting their outcomes, considering the fact that this year's thread already has more posts than any other HBS gmatclub waitlist thread and its only R1.

They probably decided that since they're literally in the middle of interviews already, might as well see how the R2 pool shakes out. In years prior, the WL admit update took place much earlier, so they didn't have the benefit of seeing the R2 pool.

My guess is we will hear on the R2 decision deadline. See you guys March 22nd. Definitely emotionally taxed over here, hope you all have a great weekend.

Really disappointed with the way this process has been managed. It's understandable that they're dealing with unknowns like a higher-than-expected yield, but after a painful week of waiting, would've appreciated some acknowledgment from Eileen that the numbers didn't play out the way they expected.

So question for everyone - do you think our chances has increased, decreased, or stayed the same? Did they make ANY releases on the WL that are confirmed? They definitely admitted at least a handful of folks... (3 by our count)

Also on the "small group".... And just to point out that Eileen's mail was more succint than usual. Maybe it means something? Anyway can't wait to feel anxious one more time in March!
