Hi everyone!
I was recently accepted to UNC-KF with a scholarship of 20k per year.
I’d like to know how the experience at a lower ranked school (such as UNC) is different from that of a Columbia or a Tuck.
Apart from a better package that is (most probably).
I’d mention the peers, professors, opportunities, and overall experience but I don’t have anything to compare it to.
I’m still young (23) and can wait another two years, build a profile, and apply to (and probably get in) these schools.
But I’d like to know if the experience at a higher ranked school is worth missing out on this opportunity at UNC.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
P.S - I’d applied to UNC this year to get an idea of the application process and where I stand!

Congratulations for the admit. Generally, the ranking does not play an important role in choosing a right B-school. The most important factor is 'FIT' with your 'GOALS'. You should do a thorough research about school, it's strengths and weaknesses, curriculum, professors, current students, alumni, visiting companies, roles offered, etc. You need to align your short and long term goals with the profile of a school. For ex.- if you want to go in Finance and the school is not reputed for Finance, then it's not a good fit (even if you get in with your exceptional profile). You need to make your personal list of schools after researching, consulting with students/alumni, friends and consultants. Find out the best schools for you. Keep 2 as ambitious, 2-3 as practical and 1-2 as safe schools. It seems that UNC is your safe school. You are 23 only. You have a lot of time to make your profile exceptional. I do not know about your profile and what you want to do post MBA, my recommendations on available data:
1. Do not settle for UNC. Target the Top ones
2. Get GMAT 750 above
3. Make your profile stronger - take leadership roles in profession, take entrepreneurship (fail or succeed - does not matter), volunteer, give time to hobby

your goals are more professional than academic in nature, so you end up doing a lot of stuff on your own outside the classroom.
