I don't think there is a particular benefit of applying to R1 except for an early peace of mind. You'll probably be just as likely to get in R2. Also, I feel one week is just not enough to get essays in shape. Even though you are a good writer, you may want to take feedback on some of your early drafts.

Apologies for my ignorance but in the wharton application, where does it ask you which round you are applying for? I don't seem to see that anywhere in the application form.

Thanks in advance!

The respective deadlines for each round determines what round your application will be considered in. E.g.Wharton's R1 deadline is Sept 27. So, if you submit your application and pay your fees by 27th Sept, your application will be considered for R1. If you do it anytime later than Sept 27, you will go into R2 or R3, depending on their respective round deadlines.

In for round 1, did everything via PDF as it was an option and figured it's way easier to read in PDF than in a word doc. FML if it says only word, never saw that...

I have ordered GMAT score report and according to Pearson the official report has been delivered. However, according to my submitted application checklist, there is only unofficial score report received. Is everyone else who have sent official GMAT score report seeing the same thing?

Mine says the same. Technically you only need to submit a score report if you are admitted.

Hi all, just submitted my R1 application. Good luck to everyone here. Any idea when they will start sending out invites?

Round 1 app submitted! Fingers crossed. On my checklist it says for both recommenders "Needed". Anyone else see that? It does at the top of the form to allow 24 hrs for material updates, but I thought that would just be for the documents (like resume, essay etc.).

Good luck all!!

On my checklist, next to both recommenders, I have their first name, last name, and the 'received date' - this is the date that they submitted my recommendation. I had this as soon as I had submitted my application. Never seen the words 'needed'. But when your recommenders submit, you should get an email notification that informs you of their submission. So I think as long as you have those before the deadline then you're fine...

OK the dates are there now. Must have just taken a little while for a refresh to appear. *breathes sigh of relief*
