Congrats.. seems quite a much like my story and my habits. Got only a 540 in my 1st attempt but trying hard to work on the deficiencies and turnaround my score so something in the range of 700 or 710. Hope I am able to do so.

All the best for the applications now!

Thanks shekhar! How many questions you can skip and still get a good score as few topics like probability & p&c always screw my time

Hello ,

I would not really recommend to go in with the mindset of skipping over questions because 2 specefic reasons

1. You can not predict where they will show up , for me it was the first question. The scores will depend on where the question appear. An error in last couple of questions does not really hurt so much as making an error in first few.

2. When we skip over a question the psycho analytical brain goes into defensive and we carry that setback through out the test. So the impact is higher than what it seems from obvious judgement.

I will recommend going through the concept in more detail and remember that the test will use more ticks that hardcore knowledge. If you understand the real concept and have an eye for GMAC traps you should be able to sail through. It is ok to skip alternative questions when you reach last 3 or 4 questions. For me the last 3 questions were insanely difficult. Like a mini Sudoku and another related to surface area of variable depth swimming pool. So there guesses would work. Please PM me if you have more specific questions.

Cheers
Shekhar

Nice tips for the preparation. Where can I get, to quote from your post, "similar scratch pad and same pen along with same kind of ear plugs to use during tests"?

Hi ,
look up GMAT + scratch pad on amazon and it shall appear. Through it is costly for the content. You can also get long box ruled paper laminated and spiral bound and buy staedtler temporary marker.
