Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your background. You are on track to be competitive at Wharton, Columbia, and NYU, which I see as target schools for you (HBS and Stanford would be stretch). You come from an over-represented demographic (Caucasion American male in finance), and so one way to differentiate yourself a bit more is to get involved in extracurricular activities in a leadership capacity. That is the biggest area of development for you, since it looks like you haven't done much on the extracurricular side since 2015.

I hope this helps - feel free to reach out at https://www.ivygroupe.com/contact if you'd like to discuss further.

Best,
Shaifali

A solid and impressive profile, if not a very unique one, so your main challenge will be to differentiate yourself from other white, Caucasian male applicants in finance. I can’t really speculate on what your “secret sauce” could be but you are welcome to be in touch with us directly if you want us to pick your brain about that part a bit: https://aringo.com/mba-process-registration/

My opinion is that if you can find that “secret sauce” none of these schools are really out of reach, even if some of them are significantly more challenging than others of course.

You should be in line for your target schools provided you are able to express your leadership stories well on paper.

Good luck.

Solid profile great test score good brand names, however you are over-represented as a white male Banker. So it's vitally important that you really achieve That Special Sauce Factor really think about how your background and upbringing would add a new perspective in the classroom... you're going to be competing with people that have some rich experience in this way and also in nonprofit leadership positions. Also that have international work experience. So you're going to need to look pretty interesting. Focus on leadership but I'd also like to see you work on stories around teamwork. If you look around and think about your peers where do you stand out? opportunity for that crowd is someone who is maybe good at soft skills, cultivating others, teamwork skills...hobbies/ well-rounded. Wondering if you went to Michigan because your screen name is go blue, I mean I'm not a detective or anything but you know :-)
